The school is pretty cool, I'd say it's a great start for middle school. The problem is if you wanna like idk make friends you gotta start at 6th, well most people will or not notice you unless you ain't a shy kid I was one but I'm okay with it cause I didn't get into stupid drama, but the counselor's are very awesome, I would say teachers too but I don't know all of them but in my experience from 7th to 8th they're pretty cool. The school in all is great so yeah

Vice principal is the glue of the school if it wasn’t for mr diamond I most likely wouldn’t be a sophomore now. The teachers are all pretty good. Principal doctor is very strict which in a progressive style school is very counter intuitive and made for more problems than it solved. If your looking for a school that your kids will have have a good time and learn from eccentric characters (mrs.Boudreaux, walker, ) or from nice and lovable teachers (mrs.pierce, mr beaver) than Thoreau is the school for you.

Excellent school. I like the fact that the school has a strict set of guidelines to follow. The principal is excellent. My son enjoys the school thoroughly and has never had an issue at all.

Administrative staff is awful. Failing students and parents left and right.
