Before we had kids my husband and I used to do tours like this all over the mid-Atlantic South (Wilmington, NC, Charleston, Savannah, etc). When we ended up in Williamsburg with built-in childcare (thanks, Mom!) we decide to do our first ghost tour in VA. We had the good fortune to be the only two people on a Friday night tour. There was a massive rain storm that ended with a drizzle as we were starting out. Our tour guide was engaging and enthusiastic despite the weather and lack of other customers. Truthfully the conditions made the tour even more fun on our end- the puddles and light mist made lights spooky and the vibe eerie, the deserted streets added to the creepy mood, and with a basically private tour we got to hear extra stories. Lacey, (Laci?) our tour guide, was both professional and fun. She shared a lot of \insider\ stories with us while also providing historical education and of course, chilling stories. The extended tour was worth the extra price, especially since Lacey was able to speak about the bonus sites on the college campus from the perspective of a student. Maybe she made up personal stories she shared, maybe they were all true...either way it was a really fun date night and worth every penny!

While I had a similar experience with the ticket price changing from website to \cart\, and I tried to contact them prior to the scheduled tour, I still reserved my tour. I spoke with the tour guides before the tour and their customer service made up for my mishap during scheduling. The EMF detectors were a big hit with my young kids. William is a great tour guide, speaks clearly and made it enjoyable for my kids. We have been on ghost tours in Gettysburg and Salem, so this one definitely met our mark with interesting stories and spooky places. Thank you for your customer service and great tour!

Andrew was a fantastic guide! We had never been in colonial Williamsburg, let alone on a ghost tour of the area but he did such a great job telling us all the stories that went along with each stop, and allowing us to ask questions on the walks in between. We would probably even do it again just to ask him more questions! Great knowledge and such a cool tour. The history is awesome.

We were really excited about doing this tour, it would have been amazing, if we had a different guide. We saw other tours out and their guides were so into it and having a great time. Our guide Julie just seemed like she was there just to get a pay check, she was forgetful of stories she was telling, and every other word out of her mouth was UM. We will be doing another Tour again however we may have to go with a different company to be sure we do not get the same guide. If she would have even acted the slightest more excited about even being there, it would have made it better.

Lacey gave our tour and she was very down to earth and chill. Which led into her stories which were professional and respectful and well told. My only complaint really is that it didn't feel that long. We took the extended tour and I know that's just because it really meant it was a decent time. The stories were engaging and they didn't feel like cheap charlatan ghost stories. Would definitely recommend and probably go again tbh. Thanks Lacey!!
