This resort boasts 7 ski lifts and a wide range of trails to go down plus a terrain park. I was impressed by how easy it was to get from one side of the resort to the other by hopping on the next ski lift or taking a conveniently placed trail. We brought our friend who was brand new, and it was nice that Wilmot has three bunny hills. This resort is obviously nothing compared to a real mountain, but for a Midwestern ski resort it was fantastic! Wilmot does a great job dealing with Covid precautions as well. Everything inside the lodge is roped off and labeled to coordinate the flow of traffic. Asking guests to make reservations also limits how busy it is.

We have been to Wilmot 6x this season with the Epic pass. Snow quality has increased as the season has progressed. We own our own equipment, but we noticed that rental lines can get long. All staff has been friendly, especially the ski school instructors. I reduced my rating to 3 because Wilmot needs to improve in a few areas: 1. Parking. The lot is in desperate need of repaving. Snow is poorly cleared leading to a lot of ice build up and mess. Makes unloading and getting in and out very difficult. 2. Bathrooms. There is ONE bathroom for everyone (only ski school students can use the one at ski school). Half the women's stalls are closed due to covid, so there are only 4 stalls for hundreds of people. The bathroom is not regularly cleaned and is filthy by the end of the day. Lines are very long. People are regularly holding up a stall for extended periods to change in one of the few open stalls to change. Add a simple changing stall by the lockers with signs not to change in the bathroom, and clean this more regularly. Also additional bathrooms are needed elsewhere. 3. Signage. Simple additions such as \wait to board the magic carpet until the person ahead of you is at the cone\ and \ski school line\ (I've seen ski instructors yell at people to get out of the ski school line when there is no sign telling people it is for ski school!) would be helpful. 4. Beginner terrain: there are only 2 green runs in addition to the little bunny hills, but there are A LOT of beginners here. These two runs get very crowded, and even dangerous because of inexperienced skiers/boarders going down out of control. Wilmot should regrade at least one black or blue into a green (they recently got rid of one to turn it into a terrain park) to serve the many, many beginners here.

I have been coming to Wilmot for over 25 years. I love the way the last investor has made improvements. The systems in place to make your experience as efficient as can be is better than average. Food, particularly chicken tenders were way above average. The entire day experience was enjoyable and again why this small little place Is just a great slice of escape.

Runs are short, as is a small hill that is closest ski area to Chicago. Many lifts maximize capacity at this hill that is Wisconsin side of hill called Gander Mountain on Illinois side. Parking lots are muddy, so wheelchair people advise you drive up to ski school drop off. Area is professionally managed by Vail, inc. Appears they are limiting to about half capacity - wish the would limit capacity all weekends in future, post pandemic for safety and enjoyment, as it can get very crowded.
