I travel 2hours to see Dr.Gwynn. Best care and VERY PATIENT! I receive Botox injections for Cervical dystopia, He is worth the 2hours getting there. And always on time. Office people are awesome too!

I was referred to Dr Gwynn after my neurologist relocated. This practice is all about the money. I WAS seeing the doctor simply for a maintenance drug and yearly follow up. Unlike most doctors, who file with your insurance and then send a bill for the balance outstanding. The front desk refused me service until I would pay the estimate amount due. Not just an office visit co-pay but nearly 175, for a visit with his nurse practitioner. If that amount is truly my 20%, as they claim what are they billing the insurance company. The attitude of the receptionist was very condescending during my interaction. For these reasons, I have requested my records be transferred to my primary care physician and I seek a new Neurologist.

I’ve tried with this office. I’ve been very disappointed in their patient care. I’ve had appointments scheduled that apparently were never made and haven’t even received an apology. When I asked for one I was told I was arguing. They prescribe brand new medicines typically not covered by insurance, they may be receiving payments for doing so by new company pharmaceutical reps. While this is legal and not considered unethical it imposes cost. Whether they are doing this or not, the brand name only Rx can drive up client costs and time appealing insurance, though they offer a 100 annual payment for the office to do this on your behalf. If you would like an example of how they treat and approach patients, please see the attached response from the owner. I will say I’m not perfect, I’m a human in pain trying to receive treatment, and I don’t feel cared for with this office. That said after posting this I was apologized to for the second appointment that wasn’t scheduled correctly.

Matthews Gwynn, MD recently saw my 83 mother after her ER brain scan revealed lesions. Though he did not have good news for our family, he was very kind and patient with both my mother, father, my sister, and I as we navigated a new diagnosis of dementia. There are no cures or treatments available, so his advice was not medical, it was more about life changes that all of us could expect. We are grateful for his professionalism and practical advice.
