Have been a customer for years in Vancouver, Canada. It’s a great service until you experience an issue and need to deal with the customer service which is consistently terrible. They never take responsibility for their issues, apologize but don’t do anything to help with inconveniences which can be major if you’re depending on them. They are slow to respond and seemingly completely unorganized and incompetent. One of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time and unfortunately it’s happened more than once.

I rented a car yesterday last night to be exact and I was soooo tired just coming out of work. I have had the app downloaded for months since I moved to Austin and never used it. Found a need for it last night. I left my purse in the car OVERNIGHT!! I called at 3:00am the number that was on the app got a human right away. I truly knew how to spell her name but she had a beautiful Hispanic accent super sweet and was soooo patient while she attempted to locate the car and unlock it. My stuff was still in there safe where I left it in the backseat. I would definitely use again!

Updated: I went through a month of h-ll trying to get my license updated on their system, with multiple calls, attempts to upload, and twitter requests. Finally encountered Steve from customer service who was able to help me deal with their nasty and byzantine verification system. I am back in business but a bit cautious - hopefully they will improve their customer service and fire the dummies who came up with the license verification scheme (or better yet, subject them to it.) Love the service but their online systems are not for humans. Original/old review: Car2go is awesome. This service has been indispensable in getting me where I needed to go with no fuss. The price is reasonable, the membership fee is one-time, there are no upsells, and the customer service is splendid. In short, the experience is quite unlike the sleaziness of a typical car rental company. I wish they expanded to the northern parts of the city but I am happy they are here. The Smart cars need some improvement - the shift from first to second is a bit jarring when one first encounters it. All in all, I am delighted to be a customer.

To start, I have had very few problems with the actual use of the service-reserving, taking a trip, using the vehicles. But moving on--a couple weeks ago my card on file was stolen, so I cancelled it, but I had 3 pending transactions with car2go before I could change my info on file. I called them to update the info, and they said it would take 2 business days and then I could proceed using the service. Okay, seems like a long time, but I guess that's just how it works for them. 3 business days later I call because my account is still locked. The person tells me that they need 2 more business days to process the transactions because only 1 of 3 have gone through (not because of anything on my end). I asked if there was any way they could run the payments now because I really needed to use a car and was told they could not do anything about it. Frustrating, but I waited. Multiple business days later I called again because the account was still locked. The same info was repeated to me, and I told the representative this and asked if I could speak to anyone in accounting, or just anyone who could give me more info. She said no there is no one who can speak to me-- I just had to wait more. I asked if changing to a different card on file would maybe work so I didnt have to keep going thru this process, and she was like nah can I help you with anything else okay bye. Like...why is this an issue?? I am so over this. It seems like I will just never be able to use car2go again.

Car2go is a wonderful service that gets you where you want to go anytime anywhere. This service has saved me even though I have my own car. I highly recommend using this service if you just need to commute around town or when you don't want to use a taxi or rental car.

Fast & Easy...sometimes. When it works, it works GREAT, when it doesn't, it REALLY doesn't. The cars are generally clean & well maintained. Most of the time, they are readily available. They are not a lot of help during Austin Film Festival, since one of their main venues, Galaxy Theater, isn't in the Car2Go service area. Also, downtown on Monday night, there might not be any for miles. I mostly use the service when heading downtown so I don't have to deal with parking nightmares. Designated parking, especially during events & festivals is a huge time-saver. The problem is after. Their app often crashes from over-use, which can make getting home a bit problematic. Other concerns: a) They don't service the Arboretum area, which is where I live, so I still have to drive some to use them; 2)Cars that show up on the app as "available" are actually in locked/restricted access lots which make them very much not available.

May 2018 is when I received a notification that I had an outstanding balance and needed to pay it. Okay not an issue, I contact customer service both phone and email. NOTHING is is also NOVEMBER and now my credit scoare is affected because of an issue on their part to fail to charge my card for a reason I STILL don't know. Mind you I have used car2go many months before this issue. I had changed the card on my profile 3 times, called my bank, the whole 360 to get this problem solve. Does car2go care? NOT AT ALL. I have never had a company NOT try and help me and so far that affected my credit score. TERRIBLE customer service that doesn't want to help and obviously don't know their job if they can't tell a customer what is the problem. I LOVE this service but whenever I finish working out this issue, I truly don't want to have anything to do with this company.
