Obviously, Shilin (士林) is a legit place to go to if you want to try heart-warming delicious Taiwan street food. We love the tenderness and taste of the chicken there. The people working there are so nice and welcoming, and the top level taste and the very affordable price is just simply awesome. This is one of my absolute favorites for dining in the entire Bay Area!

Got their fried chicken breasts. Owner was nice and even gave out samples of a new recipe he was trying. The chicken was crunchy and well flavored. Since it was a whole breast, it wasn't as juicy as the Taiwanese popcorn chicken I've had at other places.
The brown sugar boba is amazing. The braised pork was tender and flavorful.
Food was good & wait time reasonable.
The minced riced bowl is a bit disappointing. Come here for the fried chicken.

Shihlin is one of my go to hole in the wall restaurants in Berkeley. They cook to order fresh Taiwanese street snacks. I always get the treasure rice box, which includes Five spice fried chicken on top of rice, with sliced tofu drizzled with a soy garlicky yummy sauce, a tea egg and pickled Greens. Okayyy go check them out.
Delicious!!! The shrimp and pork dumplings were so juicy. The pork and veggie were my favorite, they had great flavor. I wish they had fried dumplings. The Restaurant is very clean and newly remodeled. The service is very fast and efficient. Expect a wait! They should add some benches outside.
