Their technical service seems great, but buying a used bike here is a gamble I wouldn't ever take again. I spent about 500 on a used bike there that I had to bring back twice within 2 weeks for repairs. They also hadn't notice rusting on the front fork. They ultimately were able to fix that, but had said if they couldn't that they would charge me for the replacement part. I asked about getting a refund for it because of the repeated need of repairs, and they said they don't accept returns on used bikes. After that the bike needed new parts over the course of two months of normal ride and wear, which has cost me over 100 in bike shop fees and who knows how much in cab rides when I was left without a functioning bike.

I've had one bicycle upgraded and one built from scratch upon falling in love with a frame hanging in the shop of Haven Cycles. I've got to say, whatever dream you have of a neighborhood bike shop Haven def takes the cake. Everyone here is super friendly and helpful as well as deeply knowledgeable in a nonpretentious way about bikes. The Bianchi they built rides better than I could have ever imagined and every small detail that came up from upgrading the montague they gave me very detailed receipts of how much the endeavour would cost before making a move. (low key they have good food recs in the area too ha!) They will help you find what's best for you and give you really good prices to boot. You don't find that kind of authenticity these days so tip your staff!

Beyond impressed with the crew's knowledge and matter-of-fact approach that made it quick for me to drop off my bike and they remembered everything that was needed. Check zip ties if there's cable installation though. They used white zip ties on a black bike, I would have bought the guides!
I walked into this shop with some pretty *vague* ideas about a new commuter road bike I *might* want to start *thinking* about building soon. Instead of blowing me off (which I’d honestly have understood), they greeted me with a smile, took me seriously, asked some probing questions and in LITERALLY a few seconds, pulled a vintage Italian bike frame set from their basement that was EXACTLY what I wanted. After a week at the powder coaters, and a few weeks picking and ordering the right components, they brought this super random idea in my head to life. I mean just look at this stunner. Amazing work! The team at Haven Cycles are all patient, collaborative, and all around awesome. Can’t recommend this shop enough!
