Worst hospital/physicians network I have ever experienced. Understaffed since before the pandemic but that has obviously gotten worse. When you call to make an appointment, set aside 30-40 mins of your day. Billing is a nightmare, no one can give you a straight answer in the billing department. Again, it takes about 30-40 mins when you call the billing department. Long waits in the doctors office on Maxwell (2hrs) Choose anywhere else to go but here. You'll regret the amount of time you waste following up, scheduling appointments, waiting in the waiting room and then trying to pay your bills.

This place is gracious and I can't stop talking about the staff the hospital even though the great portions of food for cheap. UIC Hospital is a great place to have a baby or have any kind of procedure done very educated people who give a damn.

My father had major surgery. I had to call multiple times to get information. First, they didn't call when he was out of surgery. Then, the nurse at the station told me she was going to call me when he would get to his room, which didn't happen. They discharged him the next day and didn't even give him a wheelchair. He had to walk out by himself! I'm the most frustrated that they gave him low-grade pain killers. For a major surgery?! - 600mg ibuprofen, 375mg acetaminophen? Now he's in major pain. Would the quality be the same if family members were able to come up to the rooms and demanded better quality care? The only good thing that came out of it were the nurses in his care.

I only give this place 3 stars rather than 5 or 1 because it was an okay facility but this place did have it's up and downs. I caught covid19 here during my stay and I'm currently still struggling with covid now as we type and this happened Jan 5th but I tested positive again as of Friday and currently feeling symptoms again. I was here for inpatient mental health services and ECT treatment. I want to tank the ECT team for being there for me when I was scared of being put to sleep so thank you for that but I do want to say thanks for not continuing my outpatient treatment. My last day there when walking out of the building I was told I wouldn't be continuing ECT outpatient which disappointed me really badly to be honest. My psychiatrist there I forgot his name but if I saw his face I'd remember him for sure, but anyways I did not like his attitude towards me at all to be honest. But I do want to give most of the tech n counselors 5stars though and the therapist there 5 stars. They treated me wonderful and one even cut my hair! The other listen to music with me and another would do things that happily reminded me of my dead mom. God bless her soul. But yeah overall 3 stars cause some staff were full of lies and the rest were cool.
