As an event planner in Pittsburgh, I have so many gorgeous venues to recommend to my clients. However, the Children's Museum and Museum Lab are always at the top of my list! Both venues are totally unique and offer wonderful amenities! Jenna and her team are an absolute joy to work with and will ensure your event is absolutely flawless. They are the definition of going above and beyond! The Museum Lab is a wonderful mix of modern and old architecture with exposed brick walls and beautiful arched windows. The best part is it's essentially a "blank space" allowing couples to truly bring any wedding aesthetic to life! If you are looking for a cool spot with a great staff that's sure to impress your guests, definitely check out the Children's Museum and Museum Lab!

What a great place. I've been to a handful of children's museums, but this has got to be one of the best, most interactive ones I've been to. The amount of stuff to do was amazing and almost perfectly paced to take up a whole, single day. With a variety of stations, from painting to magnets to slides to water toys, there is a ton of stuff for kids of many ages. Even I had a really fun time with a lot of it. There is also a ton of Jim Henson and Mr. Roger's memorabilia which is really neat for the older folks who actually remember them. Well done. Please check it out.

I literally thought this place didn’t exist until two years ago. First off, I was four to seven so I had this hazy memory of the Children’s Museum. I remembered climbing through this wooden thing, a make your own paper station, a water play center, a metal swirly thing. I remember it being just so much fun and I couldn’t wait till we went again! But obviously when you plug that into google you don’t get a lot. So I was like “I wonder where that was or if it was just a false memory.” Eventually, I just concluded it was a TV show or something and that didn’t actually happen. Then, my parents brought my little cousin to the “Children’s Museum” and then he came home, so excited talking about what he saw. I just assumed my parents were talking about the Science Center when they mentioned it before. Well, apparently my hazy memory was of the Children’s Museum was true. I’m now looking up pictures and the nostalgia! It’s all coming back to me ️

Excellent for kids. All of the exhibits and hands on activities keep them occupied for hours. Spread out on several floors and levels with an art center and snack bar. Ample parking is available.

My kids and I fell in love with this place! This museum is literally catered with all the things my kids love doing: running, crafts, building etc. You could not have built a better building for kids!!

Excellent for young kids. I'd say ages 2-7 would get the most out of it...There's a whole floor (2nd)for babies and toddlers though which is great but gets cramped if it's busy. The first floor and 3rd floor are the best for school aged kids. A nice water play area on the 3rd floor and some slides, art room and more interactive things on the first. We killed about 2 hours easy here with a 6&7 year old then went outside and found a misting area that is not part of the children's museum but it was fun for a humid day. Don't forget it's within walking distance of the aviary and my favorite, Randy land so be sure to check out both of those if you can. Randy land is free, aviary is not. Food isn't anything special. Do yourself a favor and go to the federal galley where there's a decent amount of variety for food that is better than basically cafeteria good at the children's museum. About a 5 minute walk!
