Columbia Home Depot customer service was horrible. I was on hold for 30 minutes because the front desk \forgot\ about me. I was willing to overlook it, but then when I finally spoke with someone from the department I was trying to reach, that person was completely unhelpful as well. My carpenter had already gone to another home depot to purchase an item that was supposed to have 2 in stock only to find none. So, when the website said Columbia had only 1, I wanted to verify and have the item held at the pro desk. The Home Depot employee did go check on the item, however he REFUSED to hold it at the desk because it is \too likely that it would get stolen\...even though it was on the shelf. He told me \someone would have to stand with it\. I explained that my carpenter was on his way there and it would be no more than 20 minutes. I did not understand why it could sit on a shelf, but not at a desk. The employee still refused. I do not give bad reviews lightly, but this was incredibly frustrating.

This was the best experience I have ever received from The Home Depot. It was my first time placing an order through this location and from phone to in person everyone was polite and helpful. Ruth the manager, offered exceptional customer setvice and took the time to help me resolve an issue. I will definitely make this my primary home depot from now on.

Staff was hard to get help from, was grumpy, didn't actually listen, weren't overly competent at helping with cutting, etc. It wasn't like they were busy, just disinterested. The two stars are for the two guys watching the self checkout and another guy and a young lady at the registers who were all friendly and efficient. The guys watching the checkout found someone to help me get a tool out of a cage ... the same guy who had ignored me waving and asking for help 10 minutes earlier finally showed up. The third person I asked for help getting materials cut finally found and sent someone. I usually prefer HD and believe the other big chain to be friendly but useless and the HD staff typically helpful and knowledgeable, but that seems to be in a decline. More training needed.

Found what I needed and then some and quickly checked out. Not much more to say than that. I would suggest checking on their website to make sure they have it in stock and the location in the store where it is located before making the trip out to get what you want.
