I really want to thank everyone at the Korean Consulate. The parking attendant told us we should wait in line before opening, which saved us a lot of time. The security guard was kind and efficient. The information desk was helpful and the one in the left-most booth helped me find my lost cellphone and wallet! The visa officers, windows 2, 5, and 7 were very friendly and helped me through the process. Thank you everyone!

US citizen applying for a D-8 visa to work in Korea. I already had my visa confirmation number when I went. Overall, very friendly and helpful. Parking - there is free parking directly next to their office. I believe it is east of the building in a parking lot, not a structure. I arrived about 45 minutes before 9am when they open. There was no line. A small group of people were there by the time they opened. Walked in to see first person who asked what I was there for and reviewed my papers to make sure I had everything. They told me to then grab a number and wait for an agent to process my work. I waited maybe 5 minutes and a very polite and welcoming lady helped me and went through my paperwork. Asked me a few questions and gave me information about the process. Takes about two weeks for them to process. They do no keep your passport like some consulates do (e.g. China). Was out of there in 15 minutes. Super easy.

I could not be more disappointed in the quality of service the LA Korean consulate provides. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have been trying to make an appointment with the LA consulate since November. I kept trying to call at different times of the day to make an appointment, but would end up on hold or they just drop the call. I even sent an email to make an appointment a couple of months ago, but I still have not heard anything back. I was able to get through to someone once but was told to call back because they could not make me an appointment. What disappointed me the most is that anytime of day I call the San Francisco Korea consulate they not only answer but are extremely helpful, unlike the consultant in LA where you will be lucky if any answer the first twenty times you call.
