Worst customer service ever! Don’t do it go to another organization. I was told there were no appointments after my son broke his arm. I asked what I was supposed to do and she had the nerve to tell me to follow the recommendation from urgent care. The recommendation was to see a surgeon within 24 hours. She had no solution and said she’d get with a supervisor to call me back this week. Sigh she had no clue!

Cook has the best physicians in the world! Dr. Gray and Dr. Burke are amazing orthopedic surgeons. I wouldn't trust my 16 year old VOLLEYBALL STAR to anyone else! Dr. Chang described every step of the anesthesia process to my daughter for her knee surgery and made her feel safe and then did all he could to bring her comfort after the procedure.

July 4th 2018 my daughter fractured her tibia. We were referred to the orthopedics in Alliance. The practitioner was great, the nurses were kind, patient and helpful with my toddler. I went in three times after my daughter's accident. A few months later I get hit with 300 medical bill in February of this year. This bill included my initial co pays and the cast. The part of the cast cost did not bother me nearly as much as my co pays. The medical assistants up at the front never once told me (since they were always my first point of contact) that I owed a co pay. What kind of doctor's office does that?? And after asking why this was never brought to my attention the billing specialist could not give me a firm answer. I am very displeased at how our insurance billing was handled by the ladies at the front. I never got an apology nor reimbursed (as I checked my insurance and these claims were processed with the week of each visit). I will not recommend anyone to go to that office, and I recommend Cooks train their front desk staff a little more at communicating with the parents of their patients and focus a little less on the gossip around the office.

I took my youngest son to his PCP for swelling and possible fracture in his foot. They referred us next door to Southwest Specialties- Orthopedics to get X-rays. It goes without saying that the cost of xrays would be additional but what I was not informed about from neither my PCP Dr Brennan’s office or the Ortho office is that the cost to read the xrays are not included in the cost and they refer them out without inform or consent and the charges from Radiology Associates of North Texas with a billing address in Indiana sends a surprise bill. When questioned, RA points finger at Dr Brennan’s office while they point finger at Ortho who points finger at RA. The Patient advocate looks into it and can do nothing and says it is standard practice and that they aren’t even able to view RA’s billing even though they got them involved in first place. When asked why no steps were taken to inform and receive consent to utilize outside vendor for additional costs, no one at Cooks could provide an answer.

My daughter had surgery on December 18, 2018. Dr Roaten and the nurses and everyone involved was amazing! During Surgery, the staff kept us up to date every 30 minutes. I can not lie, it was a long wait. We arrived at 6am as required, they took us back immediately, surgery time didn't start after the prep was about 1030-11am. She was done about 2-3pm, sooner then expected. We were asked to be sure of our comfort, if there was anything we needed. TOP NOTCH customer service while all the parents waited for the loved ones in the back. We moved from Houston a year ago and it was really hard to find a Dr that would accept our insurance at the time, I am so glad I found Cooks and Dr Roaten. Best hospital BY FAR. Thank you so much Cooks and Dr Roaten!!!!

My son's surgery was scheduled for 12:00pm. We were told to arrive at the hospital at 10am, which we did. It is now 3:45pm and my son has yet to be taken back for surgery. We were not kept informed of approximately how much longer we were going to have to wait. In fact we weren't told anything until I decided to go ask which was around 2:00pm. At that time we were informed that they didn't know how much longer it would be before my son was taken back. They did a very poor job of making sure we were comfortable, especially my son. If we didn't ask, we didn't get nor was it offered. I'm very upset and angry but trying to remain calm. It is now 3:50pm and we are STILL waiting.

I have had two poorly managed visits with Russell Smith, PA at the Orthopedics Specialty South office. On 10/25 I had an appointment 9:00 a.m. I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment, but was not seen until an hour after my appointment time. It was only after I made an issue about the wait and threatened to reschedule that a room was made available for my daughter to be seen. Today (11/11) I had an appointment 12:45 p.m. I arrived promptly at my scheduled time of 12:45. After waiting fifteen minutes I asked the receptionist how much longer the wait would be, and that I did not have time to wait for an hour like the last visit. I was told it would only be a few more minutes. Fifteen minutes later, 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I was told that the doctor that was supposed to see my daughter was not there and they could not tell me when she would be seen. I left the office and will not be going back. Why bother scheduling appointments if the doctor does not have a room or the ability to be there for it? Only go to this office if you don't have a job and have the time to waste in their waiting room.

I recently moved here from Kansas City and we have a childrens hospital there called Childrens Mercy one of the best in the world. I would give anything to get that kinda of care here in Texas. This orthopedic clinic wont even make a appointment to see my child and she has a broken finger that's in a lot of pain. I have to keep taking her to the ER. I have called the office over and over again and they keep saying the need her records from the other doctor. I have already requested those records and I know the doc has sent them. If there are more, I cant make them send them. No compassion or professionalism. This is a child suffering because they refuse to see her, knowing they are going to take their own xrays anyway. ONLY IN AMERICA.. NOT IMPRESSED WITH COOK CHILDRENS ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC AT ALL !!!
