CRAS has a great facility in both Gilbert and Tempe. The Gilbert campus has a few recording/mixing studios and rooms, a broadcast studio and a live sound room. Their program offers lots of opportunities for “outside hours” where outside of class time, you can use the studios and rooms. They aren’t all available to you at first, but as you progress through the program, more rooms become available to you. The staff are friendly and mostly helpful. It is a fast paced program with a main focus in audio recording even though they teach a bit about broadcast, post production, and commercial audio.

Phenomenal instructors who don’t just “know gear.” They have worked in the various industries in pro audio, and they still work in the industry. They teach because they sincerely enjoy seeing others succeed in the field. The amount of work they’ve put into continuing our (students) growth during the COVID-19 shut down further proves their commitment to the students as well as to the continued growth of the industry.

The amount of experience and knowledge that I gained from this school is amazing. I started with almost no previous experience and as of now I have run my own recording sessions with local artists, learned about live sound for concerts and theater, integrated my own sound effects into a video game, and even set up a live broadcast stream. The staff and instructors are all knowledgable and helpful, with plenty of experience in their respective fields of audio. CRAS has truly created a path for my future as an audio engineer.

CRAS-Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences was back out at NASCAR this passed weekend for its 9th appearance in the broadcast compound. NBC A1 Shawn Peacock and Submixer Steve Urick are pushing 128 channels of audio to the CRAS mobile broadcast unit so that the 11 students that are onsite each day can get a chance to mix a major live television event without the pressure of actually being on-air! #crasgradsmakeit #cras #college #education #nascar #ismraceway #nascaraz #az #arizona #monsterenergycup #audioengineer #livebroadcast #broadcastengineer #mix #master #producer #musicproducer #studio #recording #recordingstudio #audioschool #audioengineeringschool #protools #logicpro #ableton #flstudio #musicians #studervista

I attended this school with very little prior technical knowledge. Not only do I now feel confident enough to run sessions by myself and trouble shoot any problems that I may encounter, but it has opened up my eyes to a lot of other possibilities within the audio world. They tough Post Production, Video Game Audio, Commercial Audio, Broadcast Audio. My path has completely changed. I went in expecting to go into studio work but after all that ive been taught im going to be pursuing a job in the video game audio field. Thank you CRAS and all your amazing instructors for helping my mold and chase my passions.
