We just bought our home here in CT and thought it smart to have the swing set serviced as it is something that children will use. After paying almost 500 to have our unit “maintenanced” we have now been pushed back 3 times due to weather which clearly they cannot control but the customer service is non existent and frankly embarrassing. In order to get the unit serviced they asked that you have it power washed which they do not do so we had to pay someone else to do that (300) and it has since been sitting in the elements for over 2 weeks now as we continue to get pushed back. After a lot of hemming and hawing on the other end from Creative Playthings I demanded my money back and am going to another service provider. I rarely leave reviews but the poor customer service from businesses that think they can treat customers poorly and get away with it must end. Then businesses wonder why everyone goes to Amazon....

We had purchased one of the company’s higher-end swing set for our kids at the Scarsdale location. The salesperson was pretty terrible — so bad that we had already contacted other companies and were ready to just demand our money back. It was just one debacle after another, classic terrible customer service. Fortunately we spoke with Trisha, a manager at the Brookfield location. Trisha was the consummate professional and did everything she reasonable could to correct the situation. She singlehandedly turned things around, and we ended up with a wonderful set that our kids absolutely love. The quality seems excellent, the installation crew was polite and very professional (one of them even apologized for the prior mixups, which of course were due to no fault of his own). I’d have given this 5 stars but for the horrible prior experience at Scarsdale. Hopefully the company will take action in that regard.
If I could give negative ratings, I would. My first review on Yelp 3 months ago somehow disappeared. Long story. First was told they couldn’t help because they couldn’t find my name in the computer and thus had no proof I was the original owner. I called corporate, that was resolved. I guess locals missed that step in the training manual. . First set of techs show up, that was 250 just to look at it, tighten screws and tell me what parts I needed. I had to call corporate and get the parts ordered and at this point I can’t remember why they couldn’t take care of ordering parts. Next set of techs show up after I call to see why I haven’t heard back to schedule an appt once parts arrived and guess what? Parts were there!, they never called me. Second set of techs come by only to tell me set is unsafe, first techs missed areas where wood is rotted. multiple issues. More parts ordered-this time store actually ordered themselves-but again, I had to call them for appt. 3, parts were there but they hadn’t called me. Wish I could add pictures to show the unusable set and open box of parts on my lawn, in the rain left by tech group 3. Three months in to a routine annual swing set check, set is STILL not repaired, open boxes disintegrating in the rain. Three different sets of technicians out here at multiple times of day and night, all say different things, no one has actually DONE anything. Appointments cancelled due to weather on days when not a drop of rain fell but they applied sealant an hr before a tornado warning. I am once again working through corporate.
