i just picked my father up from this horrific place. The nurse who was helping with him leaving had such an attitude. I could barely stand being around her for a few moments. I cant imagine what it would be like having to stay here. The treatment is horrendous and attention is non existent. Please if you have a relative here make sure you try to stay on top of what is going on and move him/her as soon as you can. My dad left at our insistence that we not leaving him there.

If you are looking for a short term physical therapy, this is the best place to get it! The people are friendly and helpful.

I won’t go on a rant, I will just state facts. My dad, at 88 with advance Parkinson’s, entered long term care at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cromwell in late August. When he left home he was 180 lbs. and could stand and walk with assistance. His mind would vary but he always recognized us and most times we could have normal conversations. In just 4 weeks at Autumn Lake he lost 38lbs., had at least three falls, multiple bed sores, is no longer mobile, his mental state has deteriorated to the point where he is sometimes unresponsive, and has had two emergency room visits. On the last visit he was also found dehydrated. I’ve asked the directors at Autumn Lake for some explanations and am still waiting for a response.

The Staff at Autumn Lake always brightened my day by being empathetic if I was having a bad day. Physical therapy helped me from not being able to stand to leaving the facility standing, walking and climbing stairs!

My mom was in the hospital for a few weeks and then needed to go to rehab. Autumn Lake painted a picture that it would be a wonderful experience. However, we were fooled. She wasn't feeling well and fell. Two days later, they discharged her and the very next day was admitted to the hospital for kidney failure because they chose not to acknowledge her symptoms. I wouldn't send anyone there, not even my worst enemy!
