I've been a piano student of Ely for about a year now. I was a little skeptical at the progress I could make as someone picking up the instrument as an adult. However, here we are a year later: I'm making terrific progress, love my classes with Ely, and love how the school has responded to the COVID-19 outbreak. Virtual lessons carry some of the same quality I enjoyed in the class and I love the passion of my instructor. Would highly encourage folks interested in beginning or improving your practice to check out Eastside Music School.

This is a truly amazing place. Alex, the founder and owner is a great guy who runs an exceptionally high level music school and studio. It is full of great instruments, an inspiring atmosphere, great teachers and all-around professionalism. I highly recommend Eastside Music to all ages and skill levels.

We love piano teacher Ely she is talented, knowledgeable, passionate about music, supportive, and able to tailor the learning experience to the student with enthusiasm. Both small children and adults with diverse experiences. The school itself is pleasant and well-outfitted and the staff is courteous, genuine, informed, and accommodating. The terms are great and allow flexibility, and the online invoicing system seamless. Can also pay in person. Validated parking and fun neighborhood doesn’t hurt either! Probably our best sustained private music lessons experience out of many, from west coast to east and in-between. Long may they live. :)

My dad played guitar my whole life. After he passed a short while ago I decided to take up guitar lessons so I could play his music and instruments. I'm so glad I found Eastside Music School. Everyone there is just out of this world amazing. And Jamie is the best teacher EVER. I would HIGHLY recommend Eastside Music School. The location is a bit chaotic due to current construction but don't let that stop you from going in and checking it out!

The Eastside Music School is one of the best kept secrets in Austin. Alex has brought together some amazing musicians. My teacher, Eddie Lehwald, does an amazing job mixing in the right amount of music theory and fun piano pieces (blues, ragtime, pop/rock). The recitals are very laid back (held at the cool North Door) and the monthly open mic nights are super fun (thanks to Cameron). Signing up for lessons is the best decision I've made in a long time and it's the best money I spend each month.
