(Disclaimer: I have not yet undergone major surgery for my back), however I chose Dr. Mok to be my surgeon due to several factors and above all else I appreciate him listening, consulting, advising and discussing things with me about this in great detail. I will say I have endured a nightmare of a time for the last 3 years and my health has prevented me from living the life I wish I could live where I could just excel at my career, not be in excruciating pain, not loose out on life. Dr. Mok has my confidence I like him for more than one reason. He is factual and he is in depth. I am writing this because I have not yet gone into major surgery and I am writing this in praise of Dr. Mok he deserves recognition. I am also going to write another review about him post surgery of course ! I have read nothing but good reviews of him, I spoke to him first hand several times and for anyone that wants a surgeon who will go in depth with you and consult with you the way it should be done (because that was extremely important for me) then Dr. Mok is your guy.

He is an amazing spine surgeon, for me as a person who has never had surgery in his life, I was nervous... He listened to me and explained my options and having really good bed-side manner, I feel good now and he did a great job for doing surgery on my C6&7 disc replacement(mobi c)
I was in absolute agony. Dr. Mok got me in to have tests run in a timely fashion. It was determined I was in need of a Laminectomy and a spinal fusion at L-4,L-5. Dr. Mok performed the surgery and I woke up pain free. In addition to being a great surgeon he has a great bedside manner. He is also a veteran. Met Dr.Mot at DuPage Medical Group/Elmhurst Hospital for the first time. My wife was totally at ease with the Dr. He took the time to explain my wife’s MRI to both my wife and me. He answered all our questions and explained my wife’s options. Two of the options were not surgical. Rare for a surgeon to explain no surgery options. She is going to continue her care with Dr. Mot.
I first met Dr. Mok at The University of Chicago, and I knew from our first meeting and conversation that he was the doctor for me! I have had one back surgery and two neck surgeries with him and although I know I will never be 100% I must say I do feel better because of his talents! He's no longer there but he's truly a great orthopedic surgeon!
