Great view and even better food! We enjoyed our visit here and will definitely be back. It was kid and dog friendly. I love that they bring water out for the pups to drink! A nice little spot to grab a quick lunch and a great drink to go along with it!

The oldest bar in Ft Lauderdale? If not, it’s one of them. Situated on the New River just south west of Andrews Avenue Bridge, this is one of the best places to relax and watch the river traffic. Tables on the river fill up fast and an unofficial line for them can form even before the place opens. Always worth a visit if you need to unwind.
When we came to Fort Lauderdale for a mini vacation, we've expected annoyed Floridians, hot sun and maybe a hurricane. And, naturally, tried avoiding any obviously touristy eating places. However, we were very pleasantly surprised when we ate at the DownTowner, more so that we came back for more food and drinks almost every day. Thomas made our experience extremely pleasant. He served us with food, jokes and a great attitude. Shrimp and tuna tacos are delicious. Must try for anyone. Good selection of beers and other goodies.
Great food, great location, great service! We had lunch here and it was as good as all the reviews say. The spicy tuna wonton was outstanding - we'''ll definitely come back for more of those. Drinks were great and food for each of the four of us was very very good. Our waitress was outstanding. And, because the tables are outdoors on the river and well spaced, we felt very safe. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
This place is a fantastic local spot. Fun, great people, service and atmosphere. However don't expect fresh fish etc. Just stick with the simple bar food. Great drinks!
