I was here today. Staff was great. They showed us how to pan gold. The soil sample they gave us have 3 pieces each sample to get your feet wet. Unlike other review, I believe they are real . The entrance fee was 20dollars each person and they gave us equipments. Do not expect it to be finding gold worth your entrance fee. We found some jade, cooper and rock with some gold flakes. We had searched many places and did not find gold. We had a good time. This is a kids friendly place. The place is well kept and clean. It is an Instagram worthy place. Jen

Just a wonderful time panning for gold in the creek. It was rainy, but we actually got a few pieces of gold. The building and grounds were very well kept and interesting. I love History, this was a great look back in time. Fun Time !!

It's difficult to understand some of the (-) reviews on here. This place is a rare find. The mining camp is interesting and gives a great view of times gone by. The few people we saw were having a nice time. BUT, don't let anyone tell you it's an easy trail down to the creek. It is ok if you're in moderate shape but you must be careful on the wet rocks and muddy trail and not fall down. If you are obese or have heart, or knee/joint issues, it will be difficult at best. Nonetheless, it's a cool place if you like history and the surroundings are beautiful...it's Alaska.
