Great customer service and very accommodating to help with your last minute problems. They also have good supply of high quality merchandise. A good model of how every outdoors store should be. I had gone to a few other bike shops that carry Specialized and Erik’s entire team had the can do mindset that I desperately needed. When I left it was the fact that they never made me feel I was a burden, that I appreciated most.....their patience was unwavering. Thank you......

I stopped in to Erik's in Whitefish Bay today to have my tire on my Specialized bike looked at. It was not turning smoothly and making a noise. I also had tons of questions related to the disc brakes on the bike. Josh McFadde was so helpful and patient with all my questions. He also was able to adjust the tire so it rolled smoothly. He sent me on my way with a smile and no charge for his services! How awesome is that!!!!

I avoid chain bike shops as the customer service I've experienced is not on par with boutique shops with a local owner. Today, I was mounting my Thule T2 PRO XT on our SUV and found that the key to secure it to the hitch was missing. I happened to pass Erik's and thought well maybe someone can help. I walked in expecting a teenager with no customer service skills to quickly say no and be on with his day. I could not have been more wrong. Tom greeted me immediately, I explained my situation and was told that I could order a new key online and it would be here in a day or two. I expressed that my family was leaving town in a few hours and I would either have to delay until we got the key or go without all our bikes. Tom instantly went to work opening brand new bike rack boxes for keys that could work in my bike rack. He was able to find the correct key on the third attempt. He saved my family's trip and he prevented my kids from having the disappointment of being without their bikes. I didn't purchase the rack there nor was I looking to purchase anything so technically I wasn't even a customer. He went out of his way to help a dad in need. For that I highly recommend Erik's on Silver Spring.Tom earned his business a new loyal customer by his actions today. Thank you so much. Respectfully, Nick

I test rode and bought a bike from the Whitefish Bay location and was told they would have it ready the next day. I was notified 2 hours later that it was ready but picked it up the next day. I was essentially handed a bike and receipt. The bike still had a few issues that I noticed on the test ride which tells me they didn't 'prep it' properly. I rode it about 7-12 miles over the next week and the rear disc felt warped and squealed. I took it to the East Side location where the techs were really nice! They re-prepped it and mentioned that some important steps were missed (front sprocket/pedal area and steering head area). They cleaned up the rotor and it felt fine before leaving. They were great but, the warped rotor is back and squeals after a few more miles of riding. I was told that the bike must have had an oily puddle splashed on it or something like that and it wouldn't be covered under warranty. I'm really disappointed with Whitefish Bay's customer service and prep skills and that the rotor and pads issues are considered to be my fault.

Stopped in hoping to get an idea of a grinding noise I was experiencing. Instead of taking 5 minutes to answer a question, I was met with make an appointment. Poor customer service experience. I will be sure to recommend business to other shops like Wheel & Sprocket and Emery's. UPDATE: Stopped into Wheel & Sprocket the next day, and there was a line. When it was my turn, the sales team member immediately asked to look at it, and after 3 minutes he recommended having the bottom bracket looked at and that in the meantime it is safe to ride. Customer service is key and my original rating of one star still stands for Erik's.
