I’ve always enjoyed knitting and embroidery but never realized how rewarding needlepoint could be until I visited the Needlepoint Nook of Mystic. Cathy helped me choose a beginner’s canvas which I successfully completed during the first part of the quarantine. I returned in May for a more ambitious project and by summer’s end, had work for a beautiful pillow. Cathy was helpful, encouraging and enthusiastic. Now I have a new hobby (although my husband thinks I’m obsessed)!

Wow! Such a lovely shop . The owner could not have been nicer or helpful. I told her I was a beginner. She guided me to some simple yet lovely canvases. No pressure.. totally honest ...in helping me chose an inexpensive canvas to learn my new addiction. Friends told me her canvas selection is stellar... they were right !! The only problem was so many beautiful canvases to choose from !!!

Needlepoint Nook of Mystic What can I say. Love this shop. I think of my self to be a crafty person knitted for years also many other types of crafts ect. never tried needlepoint. Actually I thought it was a typ of sewing and that I do not like. I was in Mystic and saw the shop went in and was greeted by this very nice women Catherine. I introduced myself and said I think I would like to try needlepoint. Catherine explained they were all handpainted canvases and differient size mesh. As a beginner she help pick out some canvases for me to choose one and the fibers to complete it. Catherine gave me a quick lesson and made sure I understood. She was very enthusiastic for me and said any problems to call and she would help me out. Went home and went to work on my masterpiece. When I did my first 6 stitches I was Hooked. Couldn't wait to finish. Went back to the shop in 4 days to show my work to Catherine she was so excited for me said I did a great job. Catherine help me pick out the finishing fabric to have it made into a pillow. Still to this day it is my favorite of the 19 canvases I have now completed. TOLD YOU I WAS HOOKED. Now that the shop is closer to my home by 4 minutes I'm the excited one. Needlepoint Nook is such a charming shop with absolutely beautiful handpainted canvases and fibers. Catherine is so helpful and is willing to help you every step of the way. Catherine thank you. Misshell

Charming shop in the heart of historic Mystic. Don't let the size fool you, the shop is loaded with the best hand painted canvass around. The owner was beyond patient in guiding me to the best selection for my skill level.
