Pete, Sam, and the entire staff are awesome! After calling several bike shops and being told that they couldn't fit me in for 3 weeks to have my bike assembled , I called Handy Bikes. Pete was super friendly and felt like one of the only shops that wasn't trying to just get me off of the phone. Handy bikes assembled and tuned both mine and my girlfriend's bike and had them back to us in less than 5 days. Sam was also super friendly and patient and thoroughly answered the million(not exaggerating) questions that my girlfriend had when picking our bikes up, and took the time to show us how to properly install our bike rack. The drive from DC was well worth it. Handy Bikes will be our go-to for all of our biking needs.

Peter was incredibly helpful with fixing my flat. I saw that my back wheel was flat as I prepared to leave the office, and walked over to this pop up repair shop, hoping he would be there. Luckily he was, and very quickly received all the help I needed. Not only did he fix the flat, but he did a quick check on my brakes, spokes, and chain, and cleaned and tightened them as needed at no extra charge. I know next to nothing about bikes, so he explained everything he was doing as he went, and offered tips on maintenance as well. He said they are currently low on staff, so I recommend making an appointment through the website if possible. He accepts both cash and credit, and I could tell he both knew what he was doing and enjoyed it. Can not recommend this place enough!

This place is truly a hidden gem! I happened to be randomly driving by when I saw the shop. I stopped by and got an estimate for some bike repairs. Not only were the repairs very affordable, but the quality of the work was superb. On top of that, they offer a 60-day guarantee on their repairs, which just goes to show how much confidence they have in their work. I was completely satisfied with their customer service, their quality of work, and their craftsmanship. This is the place I will always go to for my bike pair and bike accessory needs. I highly encourage you to check them out.

Great local bike shop that is veteran owned. Pete and Sam are friendly unlike other bike shops I have been to, and they really go above and beyond when I bring my bikes in. Great service, prices and their new location is great, right near Port city Brewing!

I know it is blasphemy, but I aim to have one bike to support my mountain biking, bike packing, and adventure racing needs. Peter has gone above and beyond to find and experiment with different components, tires, wheels, and gear. I absolutely recommend Handy Bikes. Plus, they have tons of room for bike repair appointments - when other shops are booked for weeks.

I am new in the area and was having trouble with the back tire of my bicycle. I found Handy Bikes online and gave it a try. They were fantastic! Peter, the owner, diagnosed the problem and fixed it while I waited. The cost of the repair was so reasonable and he even gave me a suggestion on how to avoid it in the future which was to check my air pressure each time before riding. He had a pump with a gauge to sell. I have a pump so he said no need to buy both. He suggested that I go to an auto store and get a gauge for a few dollars. I was considering getting a newer updated bike but he said what I had was just fine. Where do you find this kind of service anymore!? Someone who was giving service and not pressure to buy!! I ended up buying the pump with the gauge and love it!! This is a great place!! Thanks!

Sam was great. In addition to my repairs, he was also kind enough to help me get my bike and bike rack onto the car, as well as to help me pick out a lock, and bell. I was able to schedule an appointment pretty simply, only a few days out, and the repair only took a few days. Everyone was very friendly. ... as an update, three days later my tire was flat. I returned to the shop for new tires. One star was lost for the inconvenience (seems that issue was foreseeable the first time around). Still, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, which I value. As long as these two repairs last me for a while, all is well.
