Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Norm set us up with good flies and beta for where they were biting. My girlfriend had never fly fished before and we were both very excited for her first on the fly. Thank you High Desert Angler!
Had a really good time going on my first fly fishing trip. Our guide Marcos was patient and took the time to teach us the skills necessary to catch fish. I'm used to saltwater fishing so this was a new experience, but easy to pick up after an hour of practicing. The private trip is worth it as you have access to better land and feel like you're really off grid. Beautifuler scenery and def recommend.
I rolled in here early on a Saturday morning last August with all my sisters and cousins, myself the only experienced fisherman. We needed licenses and sunglasses and hats and intel and everything else. The guys were super patient and gracious and gave us a great spot to check out on the Pecos. Drove out there and watched my cousin catch his first fish on a fly (on a dry no less!) while I yelled at my sisters because they were doing it wrong. First class shop. Will definitely hit 'em up again when I'm back in SF.
My wife and I booked a half day trip with Norm and we were not disappointed. He was knowledgeable, well versed in everything fly fishing, and most importantly- he put us on the fish. We booked a trip to fish on private land, it’s a little more expensive but being the only people on that stretch of river was worth it. If you’re interested in fly fishing, this is the place to go. Can’t say enough good things about the store they run and the guide service they provide!
