I booked a tour with this company and they charged me and sent me a confirmation email. Two weeks later, they said because of covid mandates, they had to charge me double the price (to purchase all four seats) or give me my money back. I planned my entire vacation around this tour and it was a very difficult decision. I offered to meet them in the middle and they refused. They acted like every tour they give is full, but they're just using covid as an opportunity to price gouge tourists. I recommend going with a different company

It was extremely hard to find decent reviews for this place. So, I am going to write a review that I would’ve liked to see: This tour was provided by Polynesian Adventure Tours (land tour) and Paradise Helicopter. My boyfriend and I bought the Oahu to Hilo Volcano w/airfare and land tour and helicopter ride. The guy who picked us up was 20 min late. They called us two days before to confirm our attendance and asked us to wait in front of hotel between 4:45-5AM. Pickup after arrival was smooth. Our tour guide was Captain Rob. Great guide! The itinerary says “breakfast buffet”. The menu was terrible so make sure you eat before boarding. The Hawaii Volcano National Park was awesome. After touring around ourselves, the driver drove us around to see everything. The hikes were fun. However, we went on a rainy day and it was extremely slippery. The trail to the steam vents were nice! However, if you enjoy hiking, go head and hike down to Halema’uma’u Crater. I wished I knew this beforehand but the driver did take us the crater with a better view. Lunch was at the macadamia farm. The options were Burgers and hotdogs. PACK YOUR OWN LUNCH. The helicopter tour was beyond amazing, so I won’t spoil it for you here. They do a safety briefing and you hop on. It’s breathtaking! Bring a raincoat, good walking shoes, and sandals (black sand beach). Had there been better communication about the food options, I would’ve given it 5 stars. No one likes to be hungry.

Amazing experience. Luka was very friendly, explained the whole trip before we departed. What makes this company unique is its a small helicopter offering an tailored experience so no pushing and shoving to get good pictures whilst in the air - all other companies use larger helicopters (taking 6 people) so there is always someone stuck in the middle. The option of flying with the doors off is also pretty unique and adds to the drama of the flight and means there is less reflection in your photos. I'd truly recommend this company as a great way to see the lava fields and waterfall.

Last minute decision to fly, called, and within 30 minutes we were in the air. David was great, informative and personalbe. Our two 11 year old boys said it was the highlight of the trip. The doors were off and the only concern was dropping our phones as we took pictures constantly. Thanks David!

Our pilot was outstanding. Due to the ash eruptions that morning we were limited and we had to stay high over the fissure eruptions because those were people's homes but he still took us to see what we otherwise wouldn't ever have gotten to see.

Luka was amazing. Firstly we chose to fly with him because currently his helicopter only takes 3 passengers, meaning we all got window seats and the best photo opportunities, although Luka ensures both sides get the same views. No scrambling to avoid being the person in middle or sitting with a group of people you've never met. The doors off option is a must!! Luka has a wealth of experience in flying and of the lava fields/craters and of Big Island itself. From first contact, both on email and phone, he worked around our time scales and made recommendations. To say I'm impressed, is an understatement. I wouldn't hesitate to book him again or recommend him. 5 stars are not enough. Incredible experience and one of my favourite helicopter rides ever, thanks to Luka.
