My husband and I were looking to purchase our first home, and Shannon at Clayton homes helped us do just that. From the first time I arrived to just look at some models, to the closing - she went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we asked for. Michael - the owner - isn't someone who sits back and observes either. Giving us his personal cell phone number to call him anytime we needed anything, was impressive. I'm sure I annoyed him quite a few times...lol. They worked with our budget and I was able to get the model I wanted. Their homes have multiple options to upgrade and change certain features. They even helped us purchase the land. Everything went about as smooth as we could hope for. Everyone in the office helped us get to where we are today, and I couldn't thank them enough. David has been absolutely amazing through my whole experience. He always answers the phone and is always will to go above and beyond to help.He has made this stressful experience easy and smooth. I cant thank him enough for all he has done.
I would never recommend Clayton Homes to anyone. Last summer my wife and I were looking to buy a home and we found Clayton Homes. Our salesperson was David Lombard, he looked very reassuring as we picked out our home. We started the loan process with the mortgage company they deal with. After filing the necessary loan documents all looked fine. Several weeks later we heard nothing from David. When I contacted him, he informed me that the mortgage company required more of a down payment based on the property assessment in our community. I inquired how much and he said that he would get back to me next Monday. This happened for several weeks and we felt he was reneging on us, don't know why. The land appraisal for the mortgage cost us 525. After more weeks went by I had contacted him for our 1500 deposit back which he promptly refunded with no questions asked, very strange behavior. We have to perform another land survey on our property with the new builder at a cost of 595. I sent David an e-mail stating being of good business ethics if he could please refund the cost of our previous land appraisal we had to pay as this would greatly be appreciated. I have not heard from him and would like to contact Michael the manager if he could refund our money as a courtesy. This the reason why I would never recommend Clayton Homes company to anyone.
David Lombard was excellent in answering all my questions and returning all messages.He is very knowledge able about the brands they carry and all around good guy.
My wife linda and my self just got into are new home workmanship soso but being addressed the lady who worked with us did great job her name is Michelin she did her best to make everything work for us we thank her joe decelle
