Mellow, collective vibe. Feels like home and adventure combined.
Great location, super friendly staff, happy to be first guest after pandemic. Hope they start filling up again soon!
We enjoyed our stay. It was affordable, clean, in a good location and the staff was very helpful. It's within walking distance of bars, restaurants, transit. We'd stay here again.
Wonderful space, great location, extremely accommodating staff. Will certainly stay again.
They honestly have the most amazing staff! I left my watch and they literally sent it back to me! They dropped it off at the post office and everything! The place itself was clean and comfy. Very homie, really enjoyed my stay! Definitely will be back! Thank you Detroit!
Super nice small Hostel in a residential area, with small nice rooms quiet rooms. Michigan Avenue with all the restaurants and bars is reachable in only a few our by foot and even downtown is in walking distance in about 20 minutes.
Excellent hostel with clean comfortable beds, very good customer service, fast reliable wi-fi and at a good price. I highly recommend it for budget travelers. I will begin with the good points- the beds and bathroom were clean and very comfortable, they have free luggage storage, they also offer free laundry use after free 8 PM while I as there (ask staff in advance to use it), lockers for use if you desire, excellent customer service-Molly and the young clean shaven guy with a baseball hat both were very nice and provided excellent customer service- , a parking lot with free parking, a tv and movie room and bikes for rent and at about 30 US per night it is an excellent value. Detroit has a gritty image and has some rough areas but does have some good places to visit (i recommend a free tour of the Fisher building) and a good downtown, decent waterfront, lots of vintage historical architecture and Windsor Canada is a only a 20 minute bus ride from downtown. The minor negatives (in my opinion)- the location was decent but not great if you do not own a car (they have a free parking in the back) like I did. it is about 1.5 to 2 miles from downtown and public transit in Detroit is not good (as I discovered) and it was not very convenient to use the bus system (although it was doable and I got by and enjoyed my time in the city and hostel). Be prepared to navigate the mediocre Detroit bus system or even better- use Uber/Lyft since it is much more convenient and not expensive- about 7 US for a trip to downtown. Also-they had some free breakfast food like bread, peanut butter, coffee etc that was okay and was fine for me but not the kind of breakfast you often see offered at many hostels. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay that is a very good value and I will stay here again if I return to Detroit.
