If i could rate it lower... I would. It is the only climbing for maybe 200 miles... so that designates a monopoly. While I love climbing, and indoor bouldering and top roping, Enclosure is the biggest joke in the industry. The bouldering routes aren't rated or set to their appropriate level, and seriously lack originality. I fear that my review may sound a lot like Jakes... but fear not, all is true. I actually created a whole new google account just to rant about this joke. No sounds in the weight rooms. no metal on metal contact... and if you intend on actually lifting or tiring yourself out... making NO sound is actually impossible. I'm tempted to return just to teach a simple physics class. Metal conducts: heat, electricity, and SOUND. I have no idea who the dumbass was who designed the weight room over the office... but a successful business would remedy such inadequacies. The other idea is that you could run it like a regular climbing gym... encouraging sweat, pain, and perseverance. In town it's a running joke, "did you work out today?"...'yeah only my eardrums though, the monks were power tripping again.' Most of the locals have just joined a real gym, and climb outside. Unfortunately Enclosure is actually a great social scene... but mostly for people new to Jackson (who haven't, but will figure it out) It's almost as though... because of said monopoly, management has not cared to see the repercussions of their asinine policies. They can get away with it, only because they are the only climbing gym in the Hole. Any competition would squash and take the entire market share.

Good facility, weird vibe from the staff, and lots of rules. Good bouldering and climbing area, the quality of routes leaves much to be desired though. Straightforward and not very imaginative; the route setters don't use the natural features of the wall much. The staff forces you to use grigris to belay, and forces you to climb with carabiners duct taped into a figure eight so that you can't tie the knot into your harness. You are also scolded for having loose chalk in your chalk bag. The weight room is good, but the staff has excessive rules about putting the weights down SILENTLY. Nobody wants slamming weights on the floor but the staff gives you a 5 minute spiel emphasizing total silence, including silently adjusting the benches. This is apparently because the weight room is over the office and they don't like hearing the weights through the floor. And you will be scolded if they hear anything.

Not a bad facility but the staff were all incredibly rude and acted inconvenienced that we there. Not kid friendly in the least. Would never return.
