I've had a wonderful experience with Lake St. Clair Sailing School. I started out as a nervous sailor. All of Lake St. Clair Sailing School's instructors were patient, encouraging, and very skilled. As a result, sailing has become one of my favorite past times. I also love that instruction takes place on a 30 ft. boat, so you are learning on a boat that would actually be used for open-water sailing.

We picked out this school after researching and talking to several in the Detroit area. One important difference to us was that Lake St Clair Sailing School offers evening sailing to strength your skills at a very reasonable rate. We are a group of four and just completed the ASA 101 class in their 30 foot Catalina. What a great experience. Can't say enough about Captain Jim. He made us feel comfortable and created a fun experience while learning all of the necessary skills. We all decided that we are taking the next class, ASA 103 with Captain Jim as well.
