Ship shape and ready to tour! The Overfalls is a local treasure and the locals have done much to preserve it! There is a foundation that had this historic ship completely refurbished recently. An amazing amount of history is told here told by an army of volunteers! Even more is the adjacent park including an extensive young children playground, benches to watch boats on the canal and a dock to welcome boats and to fish. Come visit soon!

Great little stop for families. The play ground is really cute with some great photo opps. You can also find a few of the local National Parks passport stamps here.

Lots of history and a beautiful ship/floating lighthouse. It was interesting to learn that these lighthouse ship was used as floating lighthouses. I was amazed by how big this ship is, and these ships were built to survive storms, rough water, etc... All I can think of is how scary it was for those who lived on these ships to be out in the water, at night, in a storm.... With its purpose was to serve as a location indicator.

We went during the off season, so I wasn't expecting much but to our pleasant surprise the whole ship is lit up at night! Sure we didn't get the tour but I had never heard of a light ship and I had to see one and I certainly wasn't disappointed! She is a beauty still. Gorgeous at night! I wish that they were open so that we could at least donate some money for her up keeping. They also have what is advertised as "the world's largest bobber" next to the ship. It's a quick stop but definitely worth it. On your way through town you can also see all of the historic buildings it's a very nice little town.

The light ship Overfalls is a must see attraction in Lewes. Not only are the tour guides kind and informative, but the park, and surrounding area are beautiful and well kept. While you are there, be sure to eat at Irish Eyes, a restaurant across the canal.

Go on the tour! Lots of information presented. A unique story is told here for just 5 per person that benefits the foundation that maintains the Overfalls.

Beautifully restored former Lightship! I unfortunately did not have the spare time to go onboard, but since I don't get down to Lewes, DE often, I wanted to at least stop by for a few pictures.
