Disappointed. I had them come out to clean my wood burning fireplace insert flue, as it was back drafting badly into the house. They ran the tool up the pipe, and vacuumed everything, and also noted my chimney crown was cracking, verified by pictures. I authorized them to address the crown while they were here (850)....only to still have the fireplace back draft. Very disappointed, as I love using my fireplace, and had quite a stock pile of wood ready for the winter. I climbed the roof ( 25ft of the ground/steep roof pitch ) to find the REAL cause....clogged screen cap....see pics. I mean, they cleaned the flue AND were on the roof repairing the crown....how was this not noticed? Looks like I'm left to clean it myself going forward.

Ordered our gas logs through these guys and so far the experience has been great. Knowledgeable salespeople who don’t try to oversell. Stay tuned for an update after our logs get installed.
We had water staining on our interior walls That was damp and didn’t know what was causing it. We knew the chimney ran behind that area, so called out Chicago Fireplace & Chimney to come out and look to see if they could determine the issue. Sean came out within a few days, looked everything over and determined that our 2 year old furnace and water heater was causing the moisture issue. The solution was installing a chimney liner. They sent out 2 guys to do the chimney liner installation. They were very professional and explained everything to us during the entire job. They also showed us pictures of the brick problems on the chimney outside. We have already hired them to do the brick repairs once the weather will allow that work to be done. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for any of your chimney problems.
Top notch service. Manager came out the next day personally to inspect and give me an estimate and I was scheduled within a week after confirming. These guys were very affordable compared to others in the area - large companies and one-man teams alike. Work site was clean and neighbors on both sides complimented how polite and professional workers were - so much so that they both hired them on the spot. Happy I found them and will be recommending to all family in the area.
