I’ve been eating Pappi’s BBQ sauces since Reagan was in office. Didn’t vote for him? Doesn’t matter because this sauce is intended to put hair on your chest. That’s right. I’ve got 5 kids who used to think ketchup was spicy. Now they are dipping everything in white lightnin’. All I’m saying is this brand to be grilling with this summer. The gold standard before the participation trophy winners started speaking up. Rumor has it Johnny Cash was putting pappi’s on his burger the night he wrote Hey Porter.

9/1/14 Did everyone in Kentucky fall asleep after eating delicious ribs and forget to write about the great Bourbon Q of Westport? Or perhaps they don't want other people to eat up all the deliciously seasoned, smoke and BBQ flavored pieces of pig, so they are keeping this place a secret. The enthusiastic lady ringing up our order of dry ribs, the awesome chic working on the BBQ in the heat at the Reno Rib Cook Off (yes, the national competition) , and the other people helping with food prep and sauce samples all together made a great team. This was the second (of three) places we stopped for ribs while at the festival. Their ribs were the meatiest, least fatty, and most full of flavor. Plus, we got the most for our money. They should be the festival winner (well, in my opinion they totally were - but I'm not sure who really won). I wish Westport were \just around the corner\ - 2,000 miles is too far out of the way to drive for ribs.... or is it?!
