Do NOT go there to work, all departments have the worst staffing turn over rate. Instead of going home feeling like you made a difference and proud, you go home upset and discouraged. NOT A GOOD PLACE TO WORK, if you want to like your job and feel appreciated.

My father was a resident at Care Haven for almost 3 years. He initially went for rehab but ended up becoming a long term resident. The care he received was excellent. From the administration to the staff he received nothing but care, love and compassion.
My grandma has been there for maybe 8 years and they have not been taking care of her like they need to. It takes them a long time to answer her when she has her lights on. All they do is sit at the desk and talk about stuff none work related and they are on their phones too a lot. Not to mention a couple of them has stollen from my grandma they stollen her glasses she needs to see with and they stoll money from her that she saves when they have bingo there.
I have had my loved one in several nursing homes and this is the worst one ever. They do nothing but warehouse them. Each time I was there I did not feel welcome, and I did not feel like my husband was getting the best care. I was certainly glad when we moved out of that nursing home and move to the one in Charlestown. It was the best nursing home that we have ever been in. They truly cared about him and treated him very special. If you have to choose between the two don’t choose this one.
My step father has been in many nursing homes, including Carehaven, more than once. I have worked in nursing homes my entire life and know it is no glamours job. People don’t want to work in nursing homes and everyone wants to complain about how bad they are when they have no clue how hard the people work to do their best to provide the best care to so many people. I would like to give credit where credit is due and commend Carehaven for the great nursing home they have become in the times my step father has been there. I have never seen a more involved management team in all the years I’ve been in and worked in nursing homes. The front office, the nursing management team, social counselor and even the administrator. I’ve never seen an administrator pass ice and deliver trays in all my years. Same with the management staff, always answering emergency lights even if they weren’t able to be the one to help and dealing with any issue my family brought up. The kind nurses and one particular aide my step father loved were also great. He got to come home due to the great therapy and care he received. Thank you Carehaven. Highly recommended over any other local nursing homes especially now with the improvements of Carehaven .
