Silver Creek is one of the best facilities out there. Extremely clean facility and caring staff are what make this place number 1 in my books. I would reccomend to anyone who is looking for nothing but the best for their family members.

I’ve been coming here and visiting residents for several years now. Since Jo the nursing director came on last year this facility has been providing the most stellar and compassionate care. Joe is very well informed on providing care for patients with dementia and other cognitive impairments. She uses strategies that support the families and the patients in a way that keeps them happy and healthy. I got to MANY facilities, and this place provides the best care for memory care.

I would not recommend this facility for the care of anyone with memory impairments for several reasons. First and foremost, this facility does not respect resident's rights. My family and I were restricted from seeing my sister despite my complaint to the Ombudsman's office. Prior to her placement, we were a regular part of her life. The facility seemed to care more about who was paying the bill than what my sister could have gained by family visits and outings. Secondly, as a memory care facility, they should know the benefits of socialization for people with Alzheimer's. When I did get in to see my sister, she was usually sitting alone in front of a television. Even the Alzheimer's association will tell you socialization enhances the life of a person with Alzheimer's, and it is an essential part of brain health. In April of 2018, I expressed concerns about the use of anti-psychotic medications for her. Of course, they wouldn't discuss her medications with me, but if you have any questions about anti-psychotics and dementia, please research it thoroughly. Those types of medications are not recommended for people with dementia, yet my sister was administered that type of medication for 6 or 7 months. In July of 2018, I was sent a letter confirming that the use of anti-psychotics likely caused more brain damage and she had a significant health and functional decline. This facility is supposed to SPECIALIZE IN ALZHEIMER'S CARE. Do your research before you choose this or any other specialty care facility.

There are a few good caregivers in this place that help keep this place afloat. Overall the care is very minimal for your loved ones even in memory care which is supposed to be intensive. There is always a nasty smell when you walk in and is very disorganized. The bed has never been cleaned not any of my dad's CPAP machine. I checked it and he was cleaning it with Listerine to disinfect it because that's all he could do. It was filled with mildew and none of the regularly changed components we're being changed out. 7000/month and you can't count on competent care.

I have been a caregiver for my Dad for a number of years. Several weeks ago, my 2 brothers and I decided that Dad's falling incidents and increasing dementia meant that he needed full-time skilled care. As my brothers live in California, it was up to me to find the right place. With the help of \A Place for Mom\, I was scheduled for tours of all the appropriate facilities in my area. Silver Creek Inn Memory Care Community was my next to the last tour. From the time I met with Logan and Cindy, I knew that this was the best place for Dad. Silver Creek has 24 hour nursing and the entire atmosphere on my tour spoke to the high level of care given to the residents by the staff. It was like I was in a nice hotel, not at all the hospital feeling of other facilities. During the process of selecting Silver Creek and arranging for Dad to be admitted, Cindy, Logan and Paula were always available to answer my questions and provide support during this difficult time. Dad has been in Silver Creek for 5 weeks and every day, I am so glad with our decision. The first 3 weeks were somewhat stressful for Dad and me, but the staff was always available to reassure us during the initial transition period. When I showed signs of stress, there was always a staff member there to offer me a needed hug or words of encouragement. I have gotten to know most of the staff and many residents. I enjoy chatting with them or participating in one of the many activities. I wish I could list all the outstanding staff members, but it would be the entire list of employees. On one of my visits, I was fortunate to meet the president, Aaron Koelsch and his son Clark. We chatted for some time and it was clear that they are committed to creating a loving and caring atmosphere for the residents and loved ones. This is a philosophy that started with his parents and continues down to all the staff to this day. Thank you all at Silver Creek for being there for my Dad and me.
