If I had the option to give 0 stars I would because this is probably the worse place ever. This is our Dominican consulate it’s our people and they give us the worst experience ever. They act as if we are begging them for free services. It’s over price & they don’t want to help you at all. They don’t answer their phones. Nobody cares if you’re able to renew your passport or not & the worst part about it the central electoral is a joke. They don’t want to help you. They are extremely slow & they do not care for you or your immigration status. They don’t care to explain anything. You have to figure stuff out on your own. They’re very judgmental and they don’t have anyone in charge.

I have to admit, based on the reviews I read before, I went to this consulate thinking this would be a total nightmare. I don't know if all the personnel was replaced after the new change of government in DR, but I have to say that I was blown away by the level of excellent customer service I received. No waiting time either. I got there and the receptionist helped me right away and immediately took me to see the Vice Consul Mr Eduardo Morales. Mr Morales was the nicest, most helpful, and professional person ever. I explained to him what I needed and right away he assigned my case to one of the clerks. I thought they were going to tell me to come back in 2 weeks, but to my surprise, they had all my paperwork and documents ready in about an hour. I really liked that they were very strict about following the Covid-19 protocols too. Interestingly enough, the DR has been one of the best countries at controlling this pandemic. Regarding customer service, they had 2 very elegant, polite, and professional receptionists that basically were non stop going up to everyone ensuring every person was being helped out and giving them updates. Like everywhere in Brickell Avenue, parking is somewhat of an issue. Do not plan to park at the consulate as most likely you will not find any spots available. Luckily there are several parking lots right next to the consulate for about 12 a day, so parking for me was not a problem. I could honestly say everyone there seemed legit at wanting to be helpful and diligent. Hats off to the staff and management of this consulate. Thank you for the wonderful service.

I’ve been trying to call them for the past two weeks and no one answers the phone and I’ve sent them two emails with my contact information regarding what I need and no reply, not even a thank you for your inquiry message. I know that we are in a pandemic but at least reply to the email that you received the inquiry and that you are working on it. Never would I thought the same customer service that is received in DR is implemented here in the US such disrespect!
