RENTER BEWARE! I had to file credit card dispute for contract fraud against Derek and won. This is not about the properties but the type of person you might want to give your money and business. Sadly, I had to cancel a reservation with Derek this upcoming summer (over 4 months away) due to a family and work situation. I asked owner Derek to cancel and requested a courtesy exception to the non-refundable 25% deposit since it was so far out, which he had every right to decline. But he went further and declined to cancel the reservation at all, which our signed contract said I still could and would have roped me into paying the other 75%! He stopped responding to the request to cancel, so I filed an arbitration request through American Express. When he learned about that, Derek emailed me threats and personal insults to take me to small claims court, ignore arbitration if he lost (he did), and told me to just drop the dispute. Then, he finally cancelled the reservation like he should have in the first place. He might tell you he was going to cancel eventually, but then why did he wait until I had to file for arbitration and why did he feel the need to threaten, insult, and coerce me? Unprofessional, insensitive, selfish. So, if you want someone who will listen, respond professionally, or uphold signed contracts, I recommend staying away from Derek and DL Vacation Rentals, even if the properties might be nice. You might find yourself stuck in an unwanted and frustrating situation instead of enjoying any plans for your vacation.

The house feels like a mini resort. Just need someone serving up the pina coladas! We rented for two months and were very pleased with the house, Derek’s incredible responsiveness and the nearby nature and beaches. My husband had a great work set-up because Derek went out of his way to get a printer snd stand up desk put in before we got there. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable and the house very spacious and bright. The photos in the listing were really pretty accurate. We had two other couples visit for a few nights and the other bedroom “wings” provide privacy. The house itself is also very private because it faces a canal with trees across the way. The neighborhood is convenient to food shopping, the beach and downtown. Everything within 10-15 mins. We did late afternoon beach at Lowdermilk often and found it easy to find parking near the volleyball court and the beach quiet then too. Sunsets are just stunning. We had a few minor issues that needed a handyman for (nothing big or due to neglect in any way) and Derek had someone there practically before we finished texting him. He even managed to get a new pool pump installed on the same day! We didn’t eat out much due to COVID, but liked takeout from Taco Lindo nearby, Turco Taco, kareems kitchen and vourla (convenient to pickup after the sunset at the beach). Had a great lunch at the Village Pub near the bay on the water. Found a great place with a great menu for breakfast or lunch called First Watch minutes from the house. Enjoy! Hard to leave paradise!

We stayed in this newer property of Derek’s for our summer vacation in Naples (Tivoli Serenity). We have stayed in Derek’s other properties for many years and have absolutely loved it each time! This year was no different; this house was so wonderful! From the beautiful decor to the stunning view of the lake by the pool, this house was incredible. The pool is very large, and the lanai is so comfortable and spacious. The lighting around the pool area in the evening is so lovely. There are many little details in the house that made our stay so special. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud and the Alexa speakers both inside and outside the house just added to the already relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again! Thank you, Derek!

As usual DL Vacation Rentals went above and beyond at this beautiful location. The cleanliness, quality and attention to detail are among the best of any property I’ve ever stayed at. Derek’s responsive communication and willingness to help with any issues that arise are why he is known to have exceptional rentals. You won’t get an experience like this elsewhere. I wish I could have stayed longer and I hope to return soon.

I did a lot of research before renting a vacation house in Naples Florida as I am very very picky. Boy did I luck in! The house I rented from Derek (DL Vacation Rentals) was beautiful, very clean, wonderful beds and it had everything we would want to make our vacation fantastic. Derek was an exceptional host. He responded immediately to any of our calls, stayed in touch with us and addressed our questions or issues right away. There were lots of bikes and beach stuff for the kids. The community is quiet, secure and well-kept. The location was great in terms of access to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Derek was so considerate that he mailed me an item that I inadvertently left behind - at his expense! I would not hesitate to rent from DL Vacation Rentals as all of Derek houses look amazing and he is a perfect host!

We've stayed at DL properties twice and on both occasions we've found the experience to be exceptional. The houses are very nicely furnished and impeccably maintained. The owner, Derek, is highly responsive and his attention to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend a visit.
