They pay and treat their employees, poorly. A good chunk of the patients are treated poorly as well with the their run-down equipment that is often held together by medical tape! If you're at an accident and need an ambulance in the area ALWAYS deny a Kurtz Ambulance ride. I wouldn't trust these people to take care of my worst enemy let alone someone I care for.

You have to understand they are paid poorly, VERY poorly! They hire people that just graduated from EMT school & no experience. Their Dispatch is located out of State now. There's no excuse for crews being late for pre-scheduled calls that are scheduled 24 hours in advance. Probably because their crews quit left & right. In the early days when Karl Kurtz had the reigns Kurtz was a fairly well run Ambulance service but AMR (American Medical Response) is a National company that doesn't seem to understand how to run an Ambulance service here. I know people that have quit there recently & it sounds horrible!

A very bad experience with Kurtz ambulance services with a 3 miles distance I was charged 432 dollars my insurence paid and they billed me also I do not recommend this ambulance service if you do not pay on time they will sued you!

Can I just say that using Kurtz Ambulance or transport service in the South suburbs is a really bad option. Not once but twice this week Kurtz arrived late for scheduled runs, got lost using their GPS, and arrived at 12:17pm for noon appointment. Calling to find where were they at to transport my mother, got a very condescending Leah who \expressed concern\ as if were read from a word track. John the dispatch manager could not explain why their log reflected today's noon appointment only to have a driver arrive 17 minutes after the appointment to begin. Frustrating to say the least, sorry for mom because of waiting, missing lunch, bathroom needs. This is their business, they need to know their customer. I am hopeful to never have to use them again. Truthfully a very bad experience.

Terrible scammers. Coded the insurance wrong and won’t fix it. Said that even though we had proof, they would not change the coding. Over billing thieves.
