Stopped in for lunch and had the special for the day. Greens and fried chicken with yams and macaroni. OMG. It was so good. Tastes just like your mamas cooking, that’s if your mama can cook. The waiter got a little lost at times. But the food at this joint is worth the stop. The Owner comes out and says hello. She even brings you extra cornbread. I was greatly satisfied.

The red fish, asparagus, baked mac and sweet potatoes was exquisite.
Food was very bland, I mean had no taste whatsoever. What really annoyed me however was that I spent 20 dollars on the fried shrimp platter and there were only about 10 shrimp at most in the entire plate. Then they want to charge extra for sides as well when the main dish isn't even worth the amount you're paying for. You could go to another restaurant and pay the same price and get 4 times as much than what I was given. Overall very disappointed. (The one star is only for Patricia, she is very kind and helpful.)
Amazing. First time and I love it. Update: October 16, 2020 I used to love this place, but I just ordered bread pudding and seafood pasta it's watery and cold. The cheese cake taste like wiped cream cheese and water. What happened to the flavor, what happened to the chef 3 months ago. I need a refund. I spent 53 for tasteless, watery, cold food and this is not what I expected I'm very dissatisfied.
I am a vegetarian and I really enjoyed my food! The service was excellent and the vibe in the restaurant was nice, relaxed, and chill. My friends love seafood and they said it was best meal they had the whole weekend we were in NOLA. Highly recommend you pay Sassafras a visit!
