Despite Covid making it hard for the dining area to be open this restaurant has done a fabulous job with their pick up system. The fried fish will always be my favorite. Specifically, the cat fish! Their ranch? AMAZING! I have been coming here since a very young age with my parents and now my children love it. The staff always has a smile on their face and always gets my order right. Love this place!

Great place to get some fried carp or catfish with friends and family. They do have fried chicken, salmon and grilled chicken also. Pretty pricey for food. Fried carp is good to order. I got the grilled chicken because the fish has too many bones for me to eat and pick out as I go. Grilled chicken was a bit on the dry side but ok. Came with 2 sides ( have maybe 6 sides to pick from). I did like the Cole slaw and we had fried shrimp appetizer which was good.
We have never tried this place before!The two of us had dinner at Joe Tess Place last night. My husband had the baked seasoned tilapia with a side of baked beans. I had baked unseasoned trout and I asked for a side of rice pilaf. The fish comes on a bed of soft rye bread, a side of unseasoned sliced baked potatoes some pickle slices and a salty hot sauce that I assume must be ment for the potatoes. I tried the sauce and it was not to my taste. My husband saw my face and decided not to try it. We agreed that dinner was good and the portions were very good. The two dinners were pricey, but it was fish so it will be pricey. We will be returning...Covid19 has altered has changed everything in our lives today and Joe Tess Place is no exception with drive up and carry out only, the menue has had to be limited so not everything is available, just ask at the drive up or carry out counter. The drive up was busy, please be patient. They do take cash and cards. This is a good local place for dinner.
The grilled fish was good, a bit heavy on the seasoning-could go less on the salt, slightly burnt but ok. (Fish choices are salmon, tilapia, trout, catfish and carp- aka koi and goldfish) The sides rice pilaf, cole slaw, baked beans or potatoes slices are the choices, the amount is adequate. Price are fair, considering its fresh and portion size. 3.75 for a 20oz bottle of water is excessive. Take out is the only option, even though covid restrictions have been relaxed on inside dining.
For the history and fried food, excellent. For culinary tastiness, hmmmm. Not so good. It’s definitely an experience, not a great food choice. I had a grilled trout dinner which was very tasty, but everything ordered by the folks we ate with.... lots of batter, fat and yuck. Very unhealthy regarding your heart but fun to experience once!
