This crew - and Lance, the owner - are fantastic! They are skilled. They tailor their instruction gracefully to meet the needs of each individual (we had four folks in our crew, all at different levels). And they are really really pleasant to be around... within minutes it felt more like we were with ice climbing FRIENDS, rather than "polite guides" that we just met. I am creating another trip to work with them, largely in part because they were so great to be with. This is THE outfit to work with. Period.

Peak Mountain Guides is awesome!! My wife surprised me with an ice climbing lesson for my birthday and I was surely not disappointed! Spence, our guide, was AMAZING! We had a blast learning how to climb and listening to Christmas music the whole time. Would highly highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back!
I’ve been wanting to go ice climbing in Ouray for years and finally got the chance to go this year. Joe from Peak Mountain Guides was such an amazing guide! He made us feel super safe climbing for the first time and made the day a lot of fun. It was an amazing experience and I’m so glad I finally got to try it! Definitely recommend!!
Josh, Lance and all the Peak Mountain Guides were knowledgeable, kind and super fun! We deeply enjoyed our full day of ice climbing and learned a lot. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! (Also their dogs are very cute)
This was hands down the highlight of our vacation in Ouray!!! Spencer was our guide and he was amazing and so accommodating! We had two small kiddos with us (2&4) who are way too young to climb and we were trying to figure out if we could give this ice climbing thing a shot, logistically speaking. We were able to do 4 routes each, at the kids wall, while our two kiddos watched from the picnic tables in a blocked off, safe section near the wall. This is a must do while you're in Ouray!
I can't say enough good things about Peak Mountain Guides! Over several seasons, my friends and I have enjoyed outstanding instruction, skilled guiding and the joy of climbing in places we might never have discovered on our own. Safety is always a top priority; Lance and his team are experts at tailoring their teaching to our abilities and interests, and setting attainable challenges that help us continue to build skills and confidence. We're looking forward to future adventures!
Climbing most of my life. The guides at Peak are the best I’ve seen. After a bad climbing accident and some resulting disabilities they worked with me getting back onto the ice. I would highly recommend them for anyone from beginners to salty old climbers like me.
