Snow day. Ice axe and crampons training. Very exciting hike. Great snow. Weather was crisp. Los Angeles County Fire Air Operations training to be our best when the best is required of us.

Buckhorn ski and snowboard club is the kind of place you can't believe still exists. It's a private ski club - for 180 / year (family membership) one has all the skiing and accommodation that you want. It's a club, so members are expected to chip in and do some work sometimes - which is pretty cool, 'cos I've learned things like how to service a ski lift. The skiing is pretty off piste, and they don't make snow, so the season starts a little later in the year. The lodge has a kitchen, bathroom, living room, fireplace. No shower, and there's an outhouse for me (but a real toilet for women).
