We came in with our diabetic American Bulldog and she was having symptoms that we had never witnessed/experienced and were frightened that something was really wrong with her. From the moment we set foot inside the clinic (beautiful place and impeccably clean/maintained) the receptionist greeted us, ushered us to an examination room, where a technician quickly and professionally inquired and got us settled in until the vet could see us. A very short time after, an incredibly kind and caring vet came in and really took time to get all of the information he could to try and figure out what was happening with our little girl. He explained all the possibilities of what could be wrong and provided his opinions. Due to his experience and knowledge, he made us aware that her insulin could be too much/too little and her sugars may be too high/low. By the end of the examination, we felt MUCH more at ease and felt that it would be okay to take her back home safely. We followed up with our normal vet the next morning and he was absolutely correct -- her sugars were too high and it is what was causing the issues with her. I cannot explain to you how much we value and thank you for your attentiveness, level of care, and professionalism. From the moment that sliding-glass door opened until the time it closed behind us, we knew we would get the best treatment, care, and attention to get our little girl back on her feet, and you did not fail. Thank you all so much -- it is frightening when your little fur baby is sick because they can't tell you what's wrong, but thankfully I know that whenever something is wrong and I need help right away, I can depend on your clinic and staff to put my mind at ease, and that, to me, is priceless. Thank you all, again -- you're the absolute best!!! WJG

I have to start by saying I’m writing this review based on my husband’s and his family’s experience. Unfortunately, they had to put their dog down and they had never experienced this before. This was their first family pet of 17 years. I wish I knew all of the staff’s name that helped them so I can thank them personally for being there for them in such a personal and sensitive time. Thank you for being so professional yet caring.

We brought our senior dog, Rocky, in somehow knowing he wouldn’t be coming home. All the staff from the initial phone call to make the appointment to saying our goodbyes to our dog kid was compassionate, kind, professional. Although it was a tough appointment, I felt comfort knowing I did the right thing. Thank you all for your kindness with Rocky. Terri and Steve

Steer clear!, took our dog for an emergency C-section. I’m a breeder and have a pretty good idea when a C-section is needed. They took over 1.5 hours to “assess” our dog and took exrays. The vet Determined she did not warrant a C-section and sent us home. Dog had one live pup 9 hours later! We contacted First Pet and requested again For them to do an immediate C-section. They’d Said “bring her in and we will do another Assessments and CHARGE again 175 for this Exam!!!“. We took her to a different clinic and he immediately delivered the other 2 pups...one dead, one alive. All three were alive when we took her to First Pet, yesterday!

My little buddy Dusty was ill late at night and I took him in to 1st Pet to see what we could do. He had a regular vet visit coming up but I felt something was wrong. I had to wait in the truck for him due to the Covid-19 situation, and they contacted me via phone for everything they did. They did X-rays and I thought we could wait for his regular vet to do the labs as they had been great just 5 months ago and w/o the labs they felt he was in some kind of pain and to try the pain med's and follow up with my regular vet. We went home and I notified his vet, but later that night he started convulsing and having seizures. I called 1st Pet again, this time in tears, and they allowed me to come into a room with him after a Covid-19 assessment and wearing a mask. He had another seizure and I had them do the labs this time and they came back high in all areas indicating pancreas and other organ issues along with full diabetes which he never had before, he had Cushings disease, and he was just shy of 13 years old. Corgi/mixes usually live 12-14 years. All the staff were amazing! They explained what our options were and what it would cost. The costs were reasonable considering it is an Emergency 24/7 Animal Hospital. At 5:30 am I made the painful decision to let him go instead of putting him through what could be a horrible last few days in a hospital setting. Dr Michael Schacher was very compassionate and helped us through the heartbreaking process and all the staff, Jenni, Melissa, Megan and Sue? were all very helpful and compassionate in their care of my little buddy and the emotional mess that was me. I chose to take him to P.A.L.S. and didn't use their cremation services, but they placed him in a small coffin box for me to transport him and they even gave me a free set of paw prints to take home. I wouldn't hesitate to use 1st Pet Veterinary Services again and really appreciate that they are there for us all!
