Isis is an amazing doula who did a fantastic job with our son. She's very knowledgeable and was able to guide us through the newborn stage. The overnights were huge and I highly recommend them as well as Isis.

Brave Birth is a life saver. I knew single parenting was going to be hard, and then there was two babies, and a pandemic, and economic meltdown, and social unrest, and fire events, the list goes on.... Brave Birth was there for me through it all. Nicolette coached my birth partner when no one else was allowed in the hospital in the early days of lockdown, and helped set up functional systems overnight the first night I came home to maximize my ability to recover and bond. Jenna helped me so much in those important first months, from teaching me more effective swaddling techniques to stepping up when I was exhausted and unable to manage even basic emotional labor. She is loving, knowledgeable, patient, and fun. Twins don’t phase her one bit. The girls love her and so do I. If you are within 90 mins of Portland I cannot recommend this group enough for birth or post-partum Doula work. Its not just Jenna and Nicolette though, the whole community has supported me in ways that I think are very important for every new parent. They make it seamless so I can focus on my tiny people and parenting the way I want to. Making and raising humans is super hard, the decision to work with Brave Birth should never be.

Nicolette & Tasha are a phenomenal team! In the pre-birth meetings, they built a relationship with us and asked us thoughtful questions to guide us as we prepared for the birth of our babe. During the birth, as hospital staff came and went, it was so comforting to have a familiar and trusted advocate throughout. After the birth of our son, they continued to be a source of care and information for us. Tasha and Nicolette are knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate- We highly recommend!

Kindness and compassion with a wealth of knowledge. The people at Brave Birth (Nicolette, Isis, Jennifer, Rachael & Heidi) were wonderful to have on my birth team. I could not have had the positive birth experience without the loving, nurturing and knowledgeable support from Nicolette. Bringing our son into the world with her by our side made the beginning of our journey so powerful. I couldn't be more thankful. The postpartum care, support, understanding and sleep was so needed and much appreciated. I feel like I not only got some much needed rest but I also had some amazing conversations that made me feel heard and understood in a time of transition. The team was up for anything, jumped in no matter what random thing I'd asked for assistance with and KEPT offering support in such a loving way. My pantry was organized after a postpartum overnight with Jennifer, my mountain of dishes was conquered and even a little lego display for the new big sister when she woke in the morning. Isis accompanied me to a girls night out to watch my new little on while I got to see my friends for the first time in forever. I just cannot say enough good things about these amazing people. They'd be a great addition to anyone's fourth trimester!

Words can’t fully express how amazing the support of Tasha, Nicollette and Brave Birth has been for our journey into parenthood. From our first meeting, we loved their approach, which struck a perfect balance of deep knowledge and experience, caring listening and support, delightful and down-to-earth sense of humor, and genuine passion for empowering us to feel prepared — not only for the birth itself, but also for successfully navigating the before and after together. When it came to the labor and birth experience, Tasha was on call and just phenomenal. We consulted her for every key decision point, and felt greatly encouraged by her steady support and clear agenda of helping us make the choices that were right for us. During active labor, Tasha artfully and continuously made recommendations that helped us keep moving through the contractions, both physically and energetically. And her special touches, like candles (electric) and essential oils, set the scene for such a rich and beautiful experience overall. I truly can’t imagine having a better birth, or feeling more brave and supported in the process. We also loved the postpartum check-ins. We also attended the weekly parent circles, where we met the other Brave Birth doulas and lactation consultants, who are all so wonderful, as well as other families with whom we could connect with and learn from. I *highly* recommend Brave Birth to any family expecting a little one!
