Prelude Music Classes Sugar Land

A few months ago I have signed up for trial class in Prelude w Kapila without much hope at first because the other music class in the area was beyond dissapointing. But i was pleasantly surprised. It was a very non traditional type of class - exactly what i was looking for and so much more - no pressure environment for my daughter to learn music and rhythm naturally, great group of people, amazing instructor (so in tune w her students!) and a place where I can be vulnerable and let my artistic self get wild. We dance and sing and dance and sing and everybody has so much fun! The class is and is not structured at the same time. The instructor plays guitar or sings throughout the whole class. There is an introduction and farewell, there is a certain dynamic that each class follows but it all seems very free flowing at the same time. Mostly because parents aren't constantly agging\ kids to repeat or do this and that. The songs and tunes for the class are available for parents on CD and smartphone app - the collections are great, there is something to everybody' liking in each issue. Adults participate actively - kids as mentioned before are encouraged but certainly not forced or definitely not shamed into participating. After just two weeks of classes my daughter was singing the songs at home. So even if she seems not to be paying attention in class - i know she is absorbing it all. AND there is also a montessori playroom where we hang out before and after the class and it is certainly something both my daughter and I look forward to. It is nice not to be rushed in and out of the studio being restricted by class times (the way it happens in other classes). Miss Kapila is an inspiring and artistic person and her voice is so beautiful. I'm just so glad we discovered Prelude classes and met her.
