What a wonderful experience it was for the entire family. Beautiful jewelry and various stones the kids would love. If you're ever heading to anchorage or towards Kenai, definitely make a stop off the road to Prospector John's.

John is simply the best! We came in the middle of October, which is the latest he said he's ever had a customer. He drove all the way from Anchorage to accommodate us. Because of the fires this year, the regular trip was not an option since the claim fell within the burn zone, so he took us to another claim he really hadn't worked at all. What a day! My wife and I spent several hours out on the remote ground, with John just telling stories and keeping the fire going! My wife and I loved that he just hung out and gave us some pointers, but let us do the work. We found some pretty decent gold for a couple people not knowing what they were doing! I highly recommend John and can't wait to get back up here and search for more gold!

Very friendly owners who had good prices on their merchandise. Wasnt planning on buying anything, but we got some very nice artwork at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend checking them out!

We had so much fun sluicing for gold! You get to work the sluice box and then pan the concentrate. It's easy work that anyone can do. Not strenuous in the least. A true Alaskan experience!
