We wanted to find a place to eat before visiting the Christmas lights at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. My boyfriend’s mother loves Mediterranean food and while doing some research (I’m from out of town) I stumbled across this place due to Google Reviews. I LOVE hole-in-the-wall, mom and pop places. This place did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the gracious owner. He gave us all sorts of samples, to the point where I had to deny the last few, otherwise I wouldn’t need to order food! There wasn’t an item I tasted that I wouldn’t have taken home, had I had a cooler. The owner was super nice and treated you like a good friend as soon as you walked in. I have seen some reviews about him being a good ‘salesman’ but isn’t that the point? His product is DELICIOUS, and honestly after the taste test - worth it. You can taste the love that went into everything! He knows his worth...! Pay attention to the menu and ask questions - I’m sure he’d be more than forthcoming about costs, etc... The food was excellent. Throughout the group we had the lamb gyro, chicken gyro, chicken shwarma, spinach pie, and so much more to take home. Long of the short - the next time my boyfriend comes through Richmond, he’s bringing a cooler and definitely grabbing some of what we sampled. Orzo salad, chickpea salad, and baklava were some of the absolute favorites. Check it out - you won’t regret it!

Awesome Mediterranean deli and grocery. Very friendly owner who welcomed me to his store insisted I try samples of all of his salads and bakery items. I came for lunch and left with a huge shawarma in pita sandwich. Also I couldn't help but to try some of there grocery items. The best was fresh pitas, we had them for dinner three nights in a row with some marinated pork. Would highly recommend you to stop in for lunch or to pick up items for home use. I definitely will be coming again just for the fresh pitas.

Best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had! I ordered the Lamb platter which was full of flavor, plenty of food for the price, and I enjoyed every aspect of the meal. They also have great service! Very personable owner.

This is a Mediterranean market that serves food as well. The lamb gyro was huge and the meat was much better than the thin sliced Kronos brand you see many places. There is a host of prepared foods which are also great, just beware of the container size. They cost adds up is you use the larger containers they have on the counter instead is asking for a smaller one from the back. If it's just for one or two people the larger amounts may not be needed.

Excellent food. The taste of chicken kebabs, lamb gyro and any other food we tasted here is outstanding. Their style is authentic. The cook cum owner of the restaurant is very friendly. He will offer all varieties on the menu for tasting. That helped me decide what I would like to eat. Prices are just a little on the high side. The sides would’ve tasted better if served hot. If asked, the owner is heating them up for us. Ambience and cleanliness can be improved. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I smelled strong cigarette smoke- that thing is a total no no for me. If that was not there, I would love to visit this place frequently for its amazing food.
