First, I have to compliment the guide on his knowledge and presentation skills. I was impressed. I would’ve liked more time in the main level of the house, to take pictures and we didn’t get to see the upper levels at lol due to covid, but I’d still recommend it. It’s a beautiful house inside. Again, kudos to the guide, great job!

If we don’t learn from history we are bound to repeat it. Don’t believe everything that you’re told. Do your own reading via multiple sources and viewpoints.

This House has some great history and the staff has a plethora of knowledge. I highly recommend that if you are in the Richmond Area that you should go here to learn about the history of this House. There is a tour for this house every 45 minutes to an hour. The house is full of history and they have done a great job of maintaining it. Each floor is unique and every room has a good story to go with the history of the house.

Got there after it closed. I find it funny how it is now smack in the middle of a Hospital campus.

Jefferson Davis lived here. The large "Mansion" is exactly as it was in the 1860's. The tour was so interesting and informative that I didn't manage to take one photograph. I would definitely go back.

Very cool how they replicated the main floor... would've been nice to see the bedrooms in the 2nd floor

The tour guide talks about history in a very objective, inclusive and thought provoking way. She answered all questions we had perfectly, and with a deep thought provoking question back - not that you need to answer that at all! She ask in the format of “sometimes it makes me wonder...” “what would have happened if... but we never know!” She made the house and history both come alive!!

The house itself was beautiful and very interesting. The tour guide was very biased and either he and/or the script was not accurate on points regarding the Confederacy nor its flag
