Emily was our doula for our first baby's birth. From our initial meeting, she was very knowledgeable, down-to-earth, accepting and caring. My husband and I just felt comfortable around her and just knew we wanted to work with her! During the prenatal period, communication was all clear and quick, making each appointments, paying bill, meeting were very simple and smooth thanks to her. She answered all of my questions - my questions about pregnancy in general, the last month of pregnancy getting ready for hospital questions, and supported me mentally so much. During the birth I realized that having a doula was the best decision I have ever made and I was glad that it was with her. Emily was up with me all night rubbing my back and kept telling me I was doing amazing while I was enduring pain. She explained the birthing steps at each time it happens so I was never lost. We are all so grateful that she was there with us during the birth. Not only to myself but she was also encouraging and unconditionally supportive to my husband and my mom who was visiting me from Japan to help me during birth and postpartum. My mom doesn't speak English and Emily said hi and thank you in Japanese to her, gave her hug and smile, and it was so sweet for her to include my mom to birth experience and I appreciated very much. I, my husband and my mom, we all liked Emily so much that we were very sentimental when she left our last postpartum meeting. We recommend Emily to everyone who would like extra support during prenatal, birth, postpartum.

Emily was present at our 6th home birth, and I wish she had been there for the previous ones as well! After we spent all our prenatal appointments assuring her we probably wouldn't need much as all of our previous babies had been born at night, so we would 'probably just need backup in case one of the older kids woke up', babe number 6 decided to arrive in a quick and crazy afternoon birth! Emily expertly jumped in to our chaos, miraculously calmed my toddler (who is super attached to Mom and has literally never been a fan of anyone else caring for her except Emily), helped the older kids with everything they needed and helped them find ways to be involved in the birth, and also managed to capture some great photos! We also have her to thank for finding and scheduling last minute weekend body work for me, which successfully helped labor start right before I hit 42 weeks and had to transfer care away from a home birth, as well as finding in-home body work and lactation support for me and my newborn. We loved our experience with Emily and would highly recommend her wonderful, calm presence at any birth but especially if you will have siblings present because she is wonderful with kids!
Emily was simply incredible! What she does is truly a gift. Serves her clients the way I believe Jesus wants us to serve one another. She is an Angel. Plenty of times I wanted to give up but she had a way of turning my uncertainty into fuel to keep going. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Thank you Emily! You’ll be apart of our family’s story forever.
Emily was our doula for the birth of our first baby. She was an amazing support during pregnancy, childbirth, and post-partum. She shared many local resources (she even helped me find a birth class I loved!), and was always able to provide articles or information for any questions I had. Her approach is friendly, calming, caring, and open. She also took amazing maternity and birth photos that I will cherish. I'd 100% recommend Emily as both a doula and photographer.
