Hole in the wall place in Old Town San Diego. Latin cuisine but their best dishes are Chilean. I had the Chilean Pastel de Choclo. This was done nicely and was not too spicy either. Their margarita was awesome with a generous pour of tequila.

Every dish we get at Berta’s is a total hit! We love the Pollo en Chipotle on their special menu as well as the Empanadas de Queso. You have to ask for their green salsa and everything is so amazing and homemade. We recently got the Guatemalan Shrimp and it was spicy, tangy, and so flavorful and balanced well with the salad and rice. The Chilean empanadas were savory and sweet with the ground beef, olives and raisins! Berta’s Latin Cuisine is a hole in the wall restaurant serving some seriously delicious home cooked meals. The outdoor patio is also nicely lit, spaced wide apart and there is ample parking in the side lot. Will be back!

They made sure we had the ideal romantic table and helped me without a loop to pull off the surprise. Then she said yes! For us, this restaurant will always be a special location. For a while, this restaurant has been one of my girlfriend's and my favorite eateries. The food is always fine, the service is always excellent, and the atmosphere is romantic.

I met and got the opportunity to work for Berta. It was a pleasure working and learning under her. she is a very nice cool lady. She had made me some rice beans and some chicken it was Fuego. If you are ever in the old town areaaarea you want something good to eat I would stop and check out Bertas. You will not be disappointed. She has this server working for her name is Martha she is a very nice lady. You should really consider eating at Bertas Latin cusine.
