This gym is really great to workout at, it has lot's of new renovations including a super nice woman's locker room. ALWAYS super clean, with a friendly knowledgeable staff happy to assist you with your fitness goals. It's also a bargain for what you get, yes even towel service!

Beautiful and clean gym, with new equipment. Unlike most gyms these days, the people there clean up after each other. Everybody there is friendly, you'll always find a trainer willing to help you. I also wanted to point out that the owner is extremely helpful and will do anything he can to assist with whatever you need. Highly recommended, find a trainer and give them a shot!

So happy I found SMTF and Matt! This is literally the gym that I have been looking for in San Diego! Self Made has literally the nicest equipment for working out that I've seen at a gym. I used to go to 24 Hour fitness and the equipment was always beaten up or dirty! Self made is also the cleanest gym I have ever been to. There are paper towels cleaning spray located at basically every part of the gym. I love how the gym is so open too, with fresh air circulating in throughout the entire building. I have read some of these "1-star reviews" that have absolutely nothing to do with Self made and even attack Matt (the owner) as a person. What is even more confusing/suspicious about these "reviews" is that none of these people have even worked out at or been to Self Made.. so I'm confused as to how they're even allowed to rate it? Matt is literally one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and makes Self Made feel like your home gym and he makes you feel like you're part of a family. I highly recommend this gym if you're looking for somewhere clean, safe and fun to train in.

Best gym environment I have ever entered. From all of the trainers, to the owner and manager, all the way to the clients, nothing but professionalism and respect. The culture inside this gym is unmatched, this place has become my home, the people are my family. This is truly an amazing facility ran by amazing people. I appreciate everything.

First off, the staff is extremely friendly and willing to help out in anyway that they can. They are experts in the field of health education, stretching the body and mind to do amazing things! They teach you the proper way to use the equipment and have a tremendous amount of dedication to their work! Also the place is immaculate and all of the machines are in great working order! I feel that is important in a training g facility. No one wants to enter a dirty place with broken down equipment! I would recommend this place to trainers needing a place to train their clients and I would recommend clients looking for a great trainer to check out self made first!

If someone rates this gym anything less than five stars they should definitely book a few appointments with a therapist. Unbelievably fun, positive and motivating environment. It’s sad to witness that there are uneducated, unemployed, unmotivated, average overweight broke people who took their time to give negative reviews because the owner elected to take care of his trainers & clients during the epidemic. I truly wish these people took the time to work on their finances, future and education instead of targeting a local business that has a strict process for sanitizing equipment & keeping the place spotless. Guys like me refuse to associate with an average broke negative mindset. I’ve been a member of Selfmade for over three years, you won’t find a gym like this in San Diego. It’s not the gym only, But the trainers and the personal there are one of a kind. Not trying to be offensive with my review, but seriously how low of a loser would you have to be to take the time to rate a business without every being there. Great Gym

Taking my Personal Training to Self Made has bay far been the best decision I’ve made not only for my business but for my own personal growth and development as well!!! Being in a professional environment where ALL of the trainers, and owners, are looking out for each other as well as their clients and are genuinely interested in the happiness and success of one another is TRULY refreshing!!!
