Will start with the negative first: none exist. Positive stuff. Everything. My best friends from out of town stopped in for my birthday and chose this restaurant because it sounded “tasty”. Boy were they right! Everything from the first bite of my salad down to the last bite of my Parmesan crusted steak was cooked by angels. The ambiance was really neat as well. Dining surrounded by sports memorabilia is something that isn’t alien to me, but D&C blows everyone out of the water. Not sure how someone can collect so much stuff, but damn is it impressive.

Great atmosphere and really cool baseball memorabilia. The waiters are top notch, not to mention the steak was INCREDIBLE! I would highly recommend this place to anyone with a great steak appetite

Don & Charlie's is a must stop for anyone in Scottsdale for an awesome meal and great service. The restaurant is covered in signed and rare sporting memorabilia which is really cool to see and explore. The food was amazing. I had the ribeye and two types of coleslaw with a twice baked potato. It was all perfect. It is a bit pricey but if your going here you already know that. I was on a work trip so I sat at the bar. The bartender was Amy she was very nice , attentive, and gave great recommendations as well as mad a nice Moscow Mule. I hope to return again and try more of the food, especially the ribs done the 'owners way'

Out for a nice dinner with my husband for our first time in Scottsdale and chose this restaurant! Right away loved all the sports memorabilia! It was busy, but still had a short wait (the place was surprisingly large). The service was not great, the person bussing the table seemed way more concerned with us than our server. Two tables next to us seemed to be the most of the concern for the staff (must have been an owner or some one of importance). Our steak was OK, fairly overpriced for what it was. The chicken strips were very good. My steak was cooked decently but seemed to be not great quality. It was an interesting place to check out, wish we had maybe better service and better steak for the cost.

Went for a friend's birthday dinner and was completely surprised by how amazing the food was. Baseball and sports memorabilia adorn most of the restaurant throughout which i thought was pretty cool. I had the rib eye and actually had to split it with my girlfriend because of how big it was. As for sides i had the mac and cheese and broccoli, which both were to die for! Highly recommend anyone for a date night dinner

We were greeted personally by Don himself before we were seated and after. Great place with lots of history. Hurry and make a visit, I hear they are closing in May of 2019

It may sound melodramatic or overly sensitive to say that Scottsdale lost a treasured dining institution when Don & Charlie's closed last week. I had been going there for the last 29 years, several times a year. I met my first wife there in college during a group dinner for a friend's birthday. I took my friends and family from Chicago to D & C's whenever they were in town for a little taste of Chicago in the desert. A few years ago my current wife and I were there for dinner on a weeknight during the off season. We gave our order to the waitress and waited for a short time before she returned and told us there would be a delay in getting our meals and that one of our entree choices was unavailable for the evening due to a private event at the restaurant consuming said choice. She asked us if we had another entree choice in mind and my wife, who was my then girlfriend, said she would pass on anything else. I had ordered the baby back ribs and was still willing to wait for them....lol. Along comes Don himself a few moments later apologizing for the delay and offering us a drink. He then sat down with us and my girlfriend listened as Don and I recounted memories of Miller's Steakhouse in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. We ended up chatting for quite some time before the waitress returned with my ribs and the shrimp dejonghe, which Don had convinced my girlfriend to try. At the end of the night Don Carson comped the bill as well. He is a class act. His restaurant IS iconic. They will both be sorely missed by this mid western transplant.

We are from out of state and were looking for a steakhouse to have dinner at. We researched several spots and decided to try Dan and Charlies because of its rating. We wanted a more low key atmosphere, which we got. Classic look and feel, casual not too casual. We had a great wait staff and were seated promptly. Overall we loved our night. The food was good and piping hot. Great ribeye but the star of the night was the prime rib. One of the best we've had and we're from a cattle friendly state. The only downside was the shrimp cocktail. It was so-so. They were big but tasted a little fishy and the atomic sauce was too much. I wish wed been told it was that hot, I wouldn't have spent the money for it. Overall, we would come again if we're in the area and we had a nice dinner.
